Very steep and rather long walking road (no cars allowed) down to the church. It is every bit as beautiful as the pictures say. Unfortunately for photographers (like ourselves) all the best viewing areas have become overgrown, with bushes now preventing the best images.
We went on a rainy December morning, and there were almost no crowds. One of the advertising signs shows a scene with many hundreds of tourists filling the square in front of the church. We were lucky enough to have only two people -- both vendors hawking photographs.

I walked to this attraction as soon as I checked in at my hotel. i noted that this attraction has both modern and colonial types of buildings interspersed among themselves.
The biggest attraction is the Plaza Narino, several big catholic churches, museums, shops, restaurants, etc.
Tip: Best place to experience Pasto is sitting down at a bench at Plaza Narino and just watch.....

I tried visiting this church 3 times. It was finally opened during my third attempt. There was little lighting so it was difficult to see what statues and other decorations are at the altar areas.
I admired the beautiful balconies that surround the top sections of the church.
I said my prayers and took pictures before leaving.

I have been several times over here, last time this month with my parents.
This is an really ancient home, with around 300 years from build or even more, a really lovely old-style antique place with all the original ornaments from that date, it has an really old printer from more than 200 years old.
The entrance place is really cheap, like 2 USD per person or so and even tought is a small house, has a beautiful decorated patio with amazing flowers and the tour takes around an hour or so (maybe 2 hours at top).
For me It's a MUST TO DO here @Pasto City

Pasto it's a nice little city, the north side is cute, with good malls and restaurants, but the historic centre isn't equal. The center is dangerous, dirty and disorderly. the Plaza de Nariño is in the hearth of the historic centre and obviously has the same problems. The space is open, nice and with doves but really doesn't has any interesting thing... just a simple monument in the middle and anything else. I'm so sorry that this very important and historic place is in these condition :(

During my two-day visit of Pasto, I tried to see if this church would ever open. It was still not open on my second attempt, so I just took pictures outside.
How I wished all these churches around the historic center of Pasto remain open during the day for tourists like me to visit.

The Premier's office is one of the must see places in Pasto; the capital of Nariño. It is a colonial building with a big patio in the centre and three floors. The people are very friendly and willing to show it despite that they don't speak much English in the area.
