Used by the Nazis as a Czech headquarters, this stronghold dates back to the 1300s.
One of the most spectacular Castles I have ever seen. Beautifully preserved former residence of the Order of the Teutonic Knights, confiscated by the communists and nationalized in 1940s. The architecture is breathtaking, the tours are very interesting and the views are just incredible. If you visit Olomouc, do stop by at this magical castle! Highly recommended...

One of the main landmarks in Olomouc neighbouring Archibishop's Palace is one of the most beautiful gothic buildings in Central Europe. Medieval history is crossing the nearby square where the last king from the Premyslid dynasty, Wenceslav III was stabbed in 1306. The Cathedral is within a short walk from the City center and is a must see.

I've been visiting every once a while, the exhibits are improving, and the castle and surrounds definitely are worth visiting. The castle restaurant is just average-level, but hiking and bike trips around are great.

Forest bar ( Lesní bar ) - thats most unique place I have ever visit. Imagine to walk to woods for like hour or so and them find a magic place where you refresh yourself without waitres or even the owner!!!! YES! You come to the place where beer and soft drinks are cooling in the mountain stream, there is also some meat and snacsk stacked in a box if you can set a fire you can barbecue them. Want a tea or coffe? No problem take water from the stream ( its perfectly clean ) and boil on the fire or in the cattle. You ask what about paying?? Well no one pursue you if you dont pay!!!! Its up to you if you pay or not - YES you hear right , there is no one to charge you BUT after all of this you will like to pay for what you eat or drink because this dream is worth to keep going! Be careful you cant get there with the car only by walk - so use the GPS coordinates to reach parking destination and follow the signs LESNI BAR. Once again GPS coordinates - 50°13'27.95"N 17°03'23.28"E .

This place is not about technical architecture only. You can take funicular and then shuttle bus to get on the top - 1 353 m above sea level (you start at 564 m). And you will open your mounth there. Pool is so big, but the view all around is breathtaking. You can see Praděd tower and beautiful nature of Jeseníky.

The papermill is the only opened papermill in Czech Republic The papermill is ancient (mid 1500). There are frequent guided tours and for the foreigners there is good audiotour (we used the English one) the tour shows some history pf both papermaking in general and the papermill and the machines used (eg the Hollander) and also some art made of paper and ends with a demo in working factory. The tour is approx 1hr. While waiting for the tour to start you can follow a workshop or visit the small shop

This ZOO is full of animals BUT they are made of scrap, old car components or other retired appliances ;-) There are above 200 "animals" and new ones are still to be "born" ;-) The target is 456. Some of the animals look like real animals and some of them are more recycled look-alikes ;-) There is also an old airplane and foot Bridges overlooking the grounds. There is also a visitor train Steelinka which rides through the Zoo and you can save your feet. I highly recommend visit to this highly unusual zoo!

Located high on the rock (steep access path) provides superb views over this part of Sudetes Mountains, which is quite important, when you have to wait for your timed entrance - it's either enjoying views or eat ice creams in courtyard cafe. Confusing ticket arrangements, as they sell tickets for two different tours, but in fact there's only one tour, so if you got ticket for first part only - you will be asked to leave half way through... All tourists in our group got tickets for the whole show. Tour was only in Czech language. On-shoe slippers required. It's one of those Castles, when you think it's probably more interesting outside, with it's setting and views over surrounding area, than inside, where most of the stuff relates strictly to the nearest area. But still worth visiting.

The Zbrašov Aragonite Caves are the only caves of hydrothermal arigin in the Czech Republic. They were created by deep spring of warm mineral water, which also created unique mineral decoration - raft (geyser) stalagmites, crystals of aragonite and the "doughuts" coats on the walls. The lower levels of the cave are filled with gas "lakes" of carbon dioxide.
