We really enjoyed our visit to the Seehundstation and can understand why the public can't access them directly. They rescue ill or injured or orphaned baby seals, nurse them back to health, and then return them to the wild. A most applaudable organization. We were there before school started so it was a mass of children. Probably would have enjoyed it more had it not been so crowded.

While visiting friends nearby, we decided to stop the newly opened tea museum.
Ost Frisians have an above average tea consumption, tea consumption goes way back here. One of the few place outside China, where you can have a tea ceremony!
The museum is located in the 1531 city council building, great entourage. Very charmingly done. High light ustairs is the former "Rummel" room, here you can have tea ceremonies the old fashioned style! NIce town by the way! Visit Ten Cate´s bakery in the Main Street!

We live on the coast so when we have out of town/country visitors and are in the area it's a place we try to take in. It has a bit of something for everybody. Some very well-kept automobiles, lots of motorcycles. And 'old' toys. Older visitors will rediscover items from their youth ! A bit of local history rounds out the large display. Last year they added a small cafe with outdoor Seating - so there's a spot for a smoke !

We had a lovely time in the sauna area of this swimming pool. It is not huge but well done with a variety of saunas and small pools (warm and cold) inside and out. There are lovely body scrubs available for the steam baths, a platter of fruit where you can help yourself and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

The mill can be discovered on your own and it's really super-interesting and fascinating! You'll learn a lot about the life and work in the mill and also about life through the centuries in East Frisia. On the ground floor of the mill you can buy fresh fruit or vegetable and East Frisian specialties like tea or liquors. This is a highly recommended activity. There's no entrance fee, but a box to put some money in, you yourself decide what this is worth!
