Didn’t plan to visit but stopped by as it’s on the way home from Ghibli Museum (20 mins or so). It’s also not far to/from Shinjuku.
Unusual place, lots of used luxury watch shops and toy shops in amongst pharmacies and small restaurants - there are a lot of toy shops with the acrylic boxes where people rent and sell their toys, I’ve seen loads of these in Hong Kong too. Cute toy culture is in abundance here if that is of interest.

This is right out of Nakano station, a small area of stores that leads directly into Nakano Broadway. There are some chain stores, like Matsumoto Kiyoshi, Lawson, some small restaurants, some other small stores. The roof of the area was very distinctive and I think I found that the most interesting thing about this area. I wouldn't make this a destination by itself, but it is nice to stop in for a bite to eat before or after visiting Nakano Broadway.

花見のシーズンも綺麗でかつ、酔っ払い天国でない花が見れるし、初詣も時期遅らせればそれほど人多くなく、楽しめます。都心なのに、神域という感じが残っている数少ない聖域かと。 This Place is small but Japanese old traditoinal temple. If you visit spring, you see best Cherry blossom.

Nakano Shiki no Mori Park is not fancy, but it is clean and a nice place to have a rest or grab some lunch. There are a variety of restaurants and food trucks or convenience stores if you want to buy something there to eat. During the summer months, a lot of tables with umbrellas are set up for anyone to use. In other months there are still tables and chairs around. The downsides of the park is that the lawn is not huge (often much of it is off limits as well) and there are many times during the day that there are too many children running around for my liking. It is a nice park to go to if you're in the Nakano area, but it is not something to go out of your way for.

The Tetsugaku-dō Park in Nakano is flanked by the Myōshōji River and is a good place to relax and take in nature. This park is a perfect spot for cherry blossoms (sakura) viewing during spring time where the maddening crowds of central Tokyo are almost non-existent. Find your own quiet spot for a picnic and just enjoy nature for what it is here.
Nakano offers the visitors a unique experience just minutes by train from bustling Shinjuku. Tetsugaku-dō Park is located within a 15-minutes leisurely stroll from Nakano Station.

Nakano Dori Sakura Matsuri is held on the weekend of early April. Somei-Yoshino cherry blossoms bloom along 2 km on Nakano-dori street from Nakano Station's North Exit. Since the cherry blossoms form a tunnel, they attract many people. In the evening, they are lit up with paper lanterns to create a fantastic scene. At Arai Yakushi Park, there is stage entertainment that includes cheerleaders, Okinawan Eisa drummers, and professional singers. Outdoor stalls are run by local neighborhood boards and the fire department.
