In busy Shinjuku, you’ll find some of the tallest buildings in Toyko, as well as tons of shopping malls, bars and clubs. To escape the hustle and bustle, TripAdvisor travelers recommend visiting Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, a beautiful and peaceful park in the middle of the city.

Lovely afternoon tea. Wide variety of teas, in a beautiful atmosphere. Plentiful sweet and savoury treats, though a better balance of savoury would have been preferable.

I had Christmas dinner here with my family and we were blown away. Amongst the 5 of us we have very different dietary preferences/ restrictions. The English menu is marked with vegetarian friendly items and there is a range of options from veggie, chicken, seafood and more. The atmosphere is excellent and since it’s a small restaurant we truly felt we found a gem. We ordered tuna tartare, fried soft shell crab, fried tofu, clam and tofu miso soups, yakatori, wasabi squid, and mushroom and cheese tempura. We all left full and happy. Everything was excellent and a great value.
Besides that service was top notch and staff was very friendly!

Friendly and good english speaking staff. Food was great with good quality meats from pork to beef. Very wide selection of drinks. We made reservation earlier to avoid long queue and were given a table upon arrival. Definitely will come back again.Thank you for posting comments. Thank you for coming. We are looking forward to seeing you again!

Lovely understated yet highly rated restaurant in a nice little district of Tokyo. Book months on advance( we asked our hotel concierge).
9 course chefs menu with fresh tasty ingredients of the day- Heavily weighted towards exquisite seafood and seasonal vegetables.
Paired nicely with well chosen subtlety delicate fruit liquor or shoju and finished with dainty but elegant desert and green tea. Even scored a doggie bag of the most delicious rice made into takeaway parcels.
Greeted warmly by staff and even the chef waved us goodbye from the road.

The pork meat used here is the belly meat instead of the usual collar. The noodles are the think type, and the soup is quick think and slightly salty. If this is your taste, then this ramen is excellent! Tried both the tsukemen and ramen versions and both were great!

We were recommended by a friend who used to live in Tokyo to this restaurant. There are quite a few different ones in the Shinjuku area and we went to the one just outside of our hotel in the Kabukichō area. We came here quite early at around 10:30am in the morning but it didn't matter as the restaurant is 24 hours. We ordered a few different styles of beef. I would recommend going with normal non wagyu beef to start and then moving on to wagyu ones. We started with a taster plate of wagyu beef of three different cuts and was a bit hard to go back to the normal beef, which by all means was still very good.
Pricing seems to be on the higher end but you will pay for very good service and a private dining room as the entire restaurant is just filled with small yakiniku rooms.

I honestly had the most amazing experience at Tatsunoya tonight!! I’m not sure what was better; the food or service from the staff.
The ramen: excellent broth in the ramen, great toppings, perfectly cooked noodles and delicious side dishes.
The service: the staff were very welcoming and offered to place our cakes (that we had bought from another store) in a refrigerator while we ate. They were quite happy to interact with us (foreigners with little to no Japanese speaking capabilities) and even offered us free hair ties to use.
We had smiles all round and I can’t wait to go back to Tatsunoya!

First stop after arrival. We tried reserving online but was full and called the restaurant but no answer. We tried walking in at 11.20am for lunch and very surprised to be immediately seated. Because of TA reviews the subsequent guests are all tourists. We had the Shabu course for two persons (5,900yen each) and portions are just sufficient for ladies, if hungrier may need more. The highlight of the shabu is the beef of course, very tender, well marbled beef. The course includes dessert and a drink, so considering the quality of the beef, worth the price except for the touristy crowd.

Unlike other ramen restaurants, this restaurant has unique Seating arrangement and way of serving the ramen. We will asked to order and pay our ramen in a machine, then we will be seated in a room with 4-6 seaters then the servers will open a window to our seat to take order. Very nice ramen and I would say the best ramen I ever had...
