We parked near Visitor Centre, outside cinema & chalets. After visiting the Visitor Centre & picking up a walking tour map we took a bush walk to a look-out & then to the Mundaring Weir Hotel/pub. Very Victorian in decoration, several groups arrived for lunch, so must have been good, certainly smelled good. This is a remote area. Back to car & drove to car park for Pumping Station 1 where construction work is going on at present. Normally you can walk across the top of the weir but was closed through work going on. From here at Pumping Station One the water is carried 529kms to Kalgoorlie. The train & water pipes follow the same route.

Great place for a walk with beautiful natural settings. It's winter, so not much people about and cafe only opens the weekends. With the rains, the lake was nice and full.

This park is suitable for mainly family with young children. We did enjoy the sculptures and find this place plenty of equipment for the young kids to explore and play. There is a nearby toilet facilities, well kept and close to shops.

Follow life-giving water from picturesque Mundaring Weir in the forested Perth Hills, through the open spaces of WA's wheatbelt to Mount Charlotte Reservoir overlooking Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the city built on gold.
Only in WA is something like this promoted so heavily!
Its a water pipeline! I popped in to a few sites along the Great Eastern Hwy to see if I wasn't just missing why this is a tourist attraction. Obviously I kept missing it and missing it...

Today we 3 drove to Helena Valley with the intent on walking the Helena Valley to Chidlow (6km one way) component of the trail. Our plan was to detour to Lake Leschenaultia at the half way mark for lunch then walk back to Helena Valley again.
Perfect weather for walking - 23 degrees, clear and sunny.
There is a sign at the play ground opposite the IGA with an old map talking about the trail. IMO it is best to print off this brochure before you go.

The track is flat, red gravel for most of the way. We came across some mountain bikers and ultra Marathon runners but it was quiet. The road is visible for much of the way but is not unduly noisy, the pipeline is also visible at times. There are many species of trees and native bush including grevillea, bottle brush, marri (I think) and jarrah, etc. Lots of forest birds including honeyeaters, scarlet robin (near Lake Lesch) and red tailed black cockatoo.
Between Mt Helena and Chidlow there are no toilets or benches or chairs. Mt Helena has a few picnic tables/chairs near the IGA along with kids play equipments and public toilets (clean and well supplied). There is also a pub. Chidlow has a small strip of shops including a bakery and an icecream shop. There is also a pub and some public toilets (not as clean, no toilet roll).
The detour down to Lake Lesch is 2km off the main road- well sign posted. There you will find a cafe, kiosk, canoe rental, lots of tables/chairs and lots of spots to picnic and BBQ. There is a 3km track around the lake which is nice to do, also flat.
So..... if you are looking for a 19-20 km walk I highly recommend this one.

They have a good selection of art by local artists including textiles, glass, jewellery and cards. They also have regular Exhibitions going on. Worth the drive from Perth and there are good eating places close by for lunch, morning and afternoon teas. If you are looking for an unusual gift this is the place.

it was simply one of the best attractions in the hills of Perth.Driving up welshpool road to the mountain east of Perth city a scenic drive .pass through Kalamunda down hill via narrow winding road to Mundaring Weir it was a very enjoyable drive.
The water level in the dam was pretty low .Looking down the high walls of the dam on the land below was make you wonder how it was built a long time ago.It looks might and genius engineering for its time.
The park was superb clean and green with plenty of fresh air.Had a BBQ and sat down for lunch to be joint by the locals came down from the giant trees above us the Parrot 28 lives in the wild .
We were so surprised to find these birds on our table. We could not help share our lunch with them.It was just like a paradise. Our friends oversea could hardly believe the video that we made, hand feeding these birds. They were fascinated with the beauty of nature in Australia .
there was a nice old pub at the entrance if you need a drink or a meal as well as a BBQ area.
We highly recommend to visitors to Perth.

This hike is one of Perth's most mentioned but I found it fairly average without too many good views or points of interest.

This outdoor cinema up in the hills is a great place for friends to meet for a picnic before watching a movie under the stars. You might even see Kangaroos hopping around outside, and certainly see lots of birds. There are tables and benches, or chairs for people to enjoy their picnics before the movie. Doors open at 6.30 and the show starts at 8pm. A bonus is they usually show vintage newsreels before the main feature film.
Deck chairs provided, but cushions and rugs add to your comfort. Ice creams, coffee etc available at the kiosk.

When I created Skin Tone I imagined a beauty salon where your waxing is followed by your botox, your eyebrow tattooing is followed by a pedicure and all your skin care needs are catered to as well. I believe clients should be friends and colleagues family, a salon should feel like coming home. We specialise in strong skin concerns - ageing, acne, pigmentation, dryness, rosacea and sensitivity. We are not a quick fix shop - rather, we take the time to correctly assess your concerns and effectively treat them without causing unnecessary damage, pain or downtime. I will work hand in hand with you to correct any skin concerns that you have and to maintain your fabulous skin once we've achieved your goals.
This is a lovely salon, fantastically friendly yet really professional. Nice decor with a cool but quirky ambience. Excellent coffee. Always a pleasure to visit for a treatment.
