We strolled the river walk a few times and it's always beautiful and peaceful. It's not a long walk so it's perfect for kids and older folks like ourselves. We're planning on returning in the fall to check out the walking trails.

Visited in September and the fall colours were amazing from the lookout. Would be fantastic for sunset views and was awesome for autumn photos. First time we had driven up and well worth it. Great views of the surrounding area. Would make a nice picnic or stop during a road trip. Port a potty facilities and picnic tables. Wheelchair accessible.

Went for an afternoon excursion - Grandparents 2, children 2 and grandchildren 5. I had been before but the grandchildren hadn't and they loved it. Exciting to see kayakers doing what they do in the rapids and everyone was so friendly. Lots of photo opportunities and great for a dangerous hike along the river. kids were really excited. A little unsafe walking along the roadway on the way back. The kids were 3-7 but were able to do everything. Washrooms were disgusting - smelly! I could hold it but some of the kids couldn't.

I rented a paddle board for 1 week while up in Haliburton. Matt was outstanding!!!! From the initial information given when booking to the Delivery and service that he provided it was an all around 5 star experience. He delivered the board, provided great info & I spent every day using the board & enjoyed every second of it. His passion for the sport is contagious. I am going to be purchasing a board of my own with Matt's help. Even my 8 year old loved it.

A pleasant attraction for the kids. The museum was small but had some interesting displays. Unfortunately they started vacuuming some display cases when we arrived so it was a bit of a noisy distraction and we left before we wanted to. The Pioneer Village was quaint with lots of things for the kids to touch and play with.

Snowdon Park is a 450 acre wetland and forest preserve located close to Haliburton in Minden Hills Township with beautiful walking trails that are accessible year round. There are two loops - one is about 45 minutes (Brenda Chambers Trail) and the other is about 2.5 hours (Ross Rigney Trail). I'll post a map for you. It is flat terrain that goes though forest and along wetland areas. There is a beaver dam, marsh, fen and swamp - and opportunity to see a variety of wildlife and their tracks. There is a sign by the road and then an unpaved drive of about 1/2km to a parking lot. At the parking and trail-head, there is an info kiosk with map and brochures to the self-guided trails. You can just return your brochure to this kiosk at the end of your hike. I'd avoid Snowdon Park during wet and buggy seasons - lovely in the fall and wonderful to snowshoe in the winter. Wear appropriate foot gear, and bring a snack and some water. The trails are well marked with red/orange trail tape and some signage along the way. No bathroom facilities. It's convenient - less than 10 minutes drive from Chandler, Marcus and Williams Landing via Ingoldsby and about 15 min from Haliburton Village. Many thanks to the Haliburton Highlands Field Naturalists who maintain this area and beautiful trails - hhfn.ca

Drove north for a family get together and passed through Minden and saw the old Rockcliffe Hotel, brings back memories of teenage years driving to hear bands, drink etc. We decided to get some food and check it out. They may have spent a couple of hundred dollars fixing it up over the last 30 years or so, but it is still the same old rockcliffe. In the summer they do have bands and such to play on the weekends but in the winter time they cater to the local snowmobilers. The lunch was real good, I had a clubhouse with fries for under 10 bucks. They still sell rockcliffe shirts, mine disintegrated years ago, so if you need a new one ....

I think this is a great find in the middle of what I previously thought was mostly cottage country. I'm very impressed about the variety of artists who come up here to showcase their talents and causes. Definitely worth checking out the schedule on their website to see what is coming up.

We brought some friends from out of town to play and we're quite disappointed. The fairways were in decent shape, the greens not so much. Service in the clubhouse was very dissapointing, but was excellent compared to the offensive service from the beverage cart.
It was the long weekend, and it was hot and we did NOT even see a beverage cart. It was parked at the clubhouse with no one there when we tee'd off on the first hole, and in the same spot when we finished the 9th. A beer would have been nice on the course, but WATER was absolutely necessary- and there was none. Next I'll just make the extra 20 minute drive to Haliburton.
