In its fully renovated setting, the Adrien Dubouché National Museum holds the largest collection of Limoges porcelain in the world. It also contains representative works from the key stages in the history of ceramics. The museum route follows a journey through time that starts in Antiquity and crosses continents and civilisations, leading visitors towards the most recent designs. Everyone can marvel at the virtuosity of the masterpieces on display in an area dedicated to manufacturing techniques. The Adrien Dubouché National Museum and its prestigious collections thus contribute to the international reputation of ceramic arts and the promotion of the exceptional know-how that has made Limoges so famous.
Easy parking in front of the museum. The building itself is stunning. The internal design is well thought through and the display cabinets themselves add to the experience. The porcelain is beautiful. Well worth a visit.

You'll recognize the interior dome if you have seen the Chanel advert starring Audrey Tautou. Easy drop off at the station but far easier to drive to an outside station like Bussierre Gare, park for nowt for as long as you like and take the train to Limoges and then onwards to Paris or Bordeaux.

A walk through the butchery quarter is a real step back in time with a significant number of the building architecture of wood. This area also has the Church of Saint Aurelien who was the Saint of the butchers. You will also see Les Halles which is an undercover food market which smells of fresh food. The traders seemed to be packing up about 12 so go before then. There was a cafe inside Les Halles that seemed to be doing a roaring trade, it was full so we ventured to Capitan Brassarie across fro Les Halles for lunch. All in all a pleasant day out.

With its castle of the 19th century and 600 animals of 130 species native of five continents, Parc ZOO du Reynou offers a picturesque frame for a nice time in the wilds. Your walk will lead you in the middle of trees that are several times hundred-year-old and in the discovery of more than 120 species of plants.
What lovely zoo park and great place for picnic. The chateau grounds are beautifully laid out with some very interesting animals, we loved the Patagonian hares and of course the very cute pigmy goats in the childrens farm section.
We were very luck to have beautiful sunny and warm weather in February 2017 which made for a lovely day out. The park restaurant serves snack food if you cannot be bothered with taking your own picnic.
The chateau is not best looking but still nice to walk round the outside in the womndeful grounds.

This museum is within the former Bishop's Palace, which is set in the Bishops Gardens, the building itself is lovely, the exterior as well as the interior architecture is typical of its time. The collections within are also very interesting, with most of the information very relevant to Limoges and the Limousin. There is a section devoted to Limoges in Roman times, and there are Egyptian antiquities collected by a Limousin manufacturer. There is a lovely collection of Limoges enamels too. All in all a very worthy visit for a few hours. While you are there you should also pop into the St. Etienne Cathedral, which has lovely stained glass windows.

We visited this museum after spending a half day at Oradour. The exhibition itself duplicates a lot of the information we saw at Oradour and, to be honest, it is quire boring. We got there in the afternoon and the reception staff were not particularly welcoming or helpful. The museum layout and the way that information was shown did not make it an interesting visit. The one thing I learned that I did not know what that Marcel Marceau (the french mime artist) was a member of the resistance............that to me was the only interesting thing I found

This is a huge church, with an extraordinary interior: most of the ancient pillars that support the ceiling are leaning at a slight angle. We were lucky enough to witness a small choir singing at one of the side altars, and the acoustics were amazing.
