It was my first time here at this restaurant in Limoges. The decoration and atmosphere is very cosy and look like an old farm house. The staff are all very nice and very friendly. You can choose from several Menu du Jour but the list...MoreLovely

Simple family restaurant, good service, delicious meal, and very reasonable price! A bit of a time warp to the good old days when these type of restaurants served food made out real ingredients instead of pre -packed industry garbage. Do not change anything!

Beef from the Limoges area is reputed to be some of the best in France and this restaurant makes an effort to serve only the best of local beef. It's a small restaurant and very busy so Reservations are essential. We were warmly welcomed and the service throughout was very attentive. The meat was, as expected, excellent.

Very well received by excellent staff. Very good and fine traditional fresh French cooking accompanied by a good wine list. Plenty of space and more privacy than you would find in most restaurants. Nice and friendly staff but I have not found the time to check their English language capacities.

Tired of the eternal heavy sauces of French cuisine, we are delighted to discover this Italian place among a multitude of restaurants on this street. They give us exactly the food we wanted, including some custom-designed salads, but the Pasta Puttanesca is too oily and lacks fresh tomatoes and anchovies. Coffee was excellent.

We really enjoyed our first visit to Le Vanteaux. It's situated on a busy dual carriageway, but there is ample parking, both on site and in the adjacent side streets.
Mid-week lunch – 3 courses €24 is excellent value, and the standard of the cooking is first rate. Tarte fine printaniere with goats cheese was a surprising and delightful starter, whilst the Joue de Porc (pig cheek) was a revelation, and Deserts delicious and visually superb.

The Cheverny is a place where you can relax and get away by being guided. It combines traditional cuisine and innovation with a refined and warm. Always in search of new flavors to surprise and, above all, the watchword of the house "to make you happy."
The hotel staff recommended this restaurant, and it's so close to the hotel that I can walk there, so I gave it a try. And I was VERY pleased!
I ordered a three course meal and immediately realized that I may have to put on hold my attempts at curbing my intake of food. The first course (appetizer) was a small pizza. I had thought it was to be about the size of a tart, but it was the size of a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut (but not thick). It had salmon, arugula, cheese and more on it.
The entree was beef that comes from cows only in this region. It had a sauce on it and was accompanied by eggplant and tomatoes and a tomato paste and was beautifully presented. A side of perfectly prepared potatoes was also presented. My steak was cooked medium rare as I'd asked, which is difficult to get when asked for.
For dessert, I had a cake with liqueur and cream.
The wine was also excellent, but of course here in France.......
Service was quite impressive, too. Sometimes it's a miss when you're a solo female diner, but I watched the wait staff working well together and be extremely attentive to all.
Lastly, I particularly enjoyed how you can see the kitchen from when you walk toward the entrance. I actively looked for cleanliness and yes, it was spotless.
I wish I could dine here again before I leave.

Make sure you sit at the right table so you can see the menu written on the blackboard. Otherwise take a photo and try to decipher the various menu options.
The food is pretty basic, all the starters came straight out of the fridge. The terrine was delicious and the salads pretty solid.
Mains were good, especially the onglet steak.
Dessert was again solid. So all in all a good choice for a quick lunch as service is super efficient.

The rather drab exterior belies the wonderful experience that awaits inside this small, intimate restaurant. The service is attentive and friendly and the food is outstanding. Wonderful French cuisine at its very best, a successful blend of traditional cooking and ingredients with just enough of a modern twist to make it intriguing. Quite delicious with generous portions and sensible pricing.
