The Jabulani Elephant Experience affords Camp Jabulani guests the exclusive opportunity to immerse themselves in this herd's activities and interact with them on several levels. Some highlights include: meeting the elephants in close proximity and hearing their unique stories, watching playful splashing and spraying during the midday swim, tracking the herd on foot in their own territory, bidding them goodnight at sunset and even participating in valuable field research. This will be a truly exceptional experience that will be treasured forever.
We booked the extra excursion and had a very good experience, getting very close to the elephants, feeding and touching them. These are saved animals who still spend most of their time in the wild but are used to humans. Seems a really natural experience also for the elephants.

Spent the morning looking at the wonderful collection of animals. It’s so clear that the staff have a passion and commitment to their work. The tour was not only informative but the humour of our host was a pleasant extra. We visited the museum and that really brings home how our actions effect the wildlife.

HESC focuses on the conservation of rare, vulnerable or endangered animals. Cheetah Conservation is one of the core disciplines. HESC has established itself as one of the leading private research and breeding facilities for endangered species in the country. Governed by a progressive and modern management approach, it concerns itself with the breeding and maintenance of several endangered indigenous wildlife species in southern Africa. The centre places particular emphasis on the breeding and maintenance of cheetah in captivity. The excellent condition of these animals and the premises on which they are maintained, reflect the attention to detail, which is the hallmark of this facility. STANDARD TOUR The duration of each tour is 2 hours. Enables the visitor to have sufficient time to ask questions to the guide and do an in-depth tour of the centre. Please note that our first tour can include the cheetah run, however bookings are essential. Prior Reservations are essential.
The animals are in large compounds. An informative guide drives you through the park. Apart from the cheetahs we really enjoyed seeing the baby elephant and baby rhino.Dear Max Thank you for taking the time to submit a review on your visit to the centre. The thought of getting up close and personal with an animal which has been recorded as the most dangerous animal, killing the most human beings statistically was pretty daunting...But laying eyes on the mighty Jessica and hearing her story being told with so much heartfelt emotion, made any level of fear or anxiety totally dissipate.
It was an absolutely awesome experience being able to feed, stroke and actually kiss this magnificent creature! An absolute must-do in the Hoedspruit area!

Conservation through education and research, volunteering and internship placements. We have a diverse variety of local and exotic reptiles, amphibians and arachnids on display. Open to the public seven days a week including all public holidays. We do specialised courses including photographic tours, reptile orientation and reptile handling courses. Ask us about helping you with your reptile or arachnid related phobia.
The Kinyonga Reptile center was a place for us to kill a couple of hours waiting for a later appointment. As such, I did not have great expectations. To my surprise, it was very nice.
The facilities are a large number of tanks arranged within a roofed section, several large enclosures, and an enclosure they use for talks and snake handling demos. there are also some concrete animals for kids to play on, and a restaurant that actually looked pretty good.
The exhibits were well labeled, with good background information on each animal. There were a great variety of reptiles from all over the world, not just local ones.
The reptile talk was very well done, and the animals were treated with respect and care.
All in all, we wound up spending more time here than we expected.
