The good people of Hévíz obviously like the colorful churches. After a green one, now I have seen a blue one. The modern church with seven towers is very impressive rather look like a Cathedral than a church of a little country town.
It's a new building, was erected in 1999 and consecrated in 2007
What that is mostly taking in the interior is the wooden cover of the ceiling, which lends some warm, cozy feeling to the church. These wooden panels are also providing an excellent acoustic, that make possible to perform Concerts in the church.

The lake of Hévíz is the biggest biologically active, natural medicinal water in the world. Its temperature is affected by the combination of cold and hot spring waters coming from underground. The medicinal water breaks out from the spring cave on the surface at the rate of approx. 410 litres per second and with a temperature of 40°C. According to that Delivery, the water in the lake changes every three and a half days and keeps uniformly clean.
The thermal lake of Héviz is the second largest in the world, natural sources keep you warm 24 hours a day, in winter the steam covers the hot water with a mist. The água water flow is very strong and is believed to be renewed every day and has curative effects.

After Matrafured and Budapest, the unique service of the High-Tech Sports Base - the segway tour - is now available in Heviz. The tour on this fantastic vehicle offers an unforgettable experience for children, adults, the young, the elderly, couples, families and friends alike. Other exciting programmes avalable!
We have just returned from Heviz - where the largest thermal lake in the world is. Since my family did not want to go into the lake, we've looked for something to do down town. We've found segway, an interesting thing to combine site seeing and some new technical sport.
After a brief introduction on how to use the segway, we started of to ride around Heviz. It was fun! Even for my wife, who was rather scared at the beginning, after 10-15 minutes she was riding it with amusement. I would recommend it to practically everybody, except very old visitors. Have fun!
(It is not cheep, 10,000 forints - approx. 33 Euros, for two hours per person!)

This nearly 700 years old church is one of the three survivors from Árpád period. Surrounded by a little cemetery it is charming and peaceful. Don’t expect something like the Dome of Milan or the Sagrada Familia, but this tiny church has its own value.
The very clear, severe forms, the austere church interior, all of them make it worthy for a visit. Planted onto a beautiful vineyard, it was not necessary to go far even for the communion wine.

We enjoyed wandering through the farmers market on a Tuesday morning. The market is held Tues and Sat 7:00 to 13:00 and Thurs 13:00 to 16:00. It features local food products, fruit, produce, crafts and antiques. We spent about .5 hour and bought some walnuts and pastries

Pannonia, the western part of Hungary is rich in Roman monuments. The Romans who had a high bathing culture in recognition of the healing power of the thermal lake settled in the area. The first real discovery was the Grave of the Roman soldier, that was found in 1925. Soon after that in 1931 also in Egregy District of Hévíz, at the dead and of Attila Street, behind the green colored Heart of Jesus church the remains of a big 45x23 meters stone building the"Villa Rustica" was found. The earlier coins that were also unearthed nearby suggesting, that the building was erected in the first half of the 1st century. Until the 5th century, the building served several purposes. Originally it was a traditional Roman bath, but in the 4th century, it became a Mithras shrine. Now only the base of the walls remained, but the eventful history of the building can be followed on the multilingual information boards.
Near the entrance, on a small square in a stylized gate, the Cerberus sculpture of Orr Lajos is guarding the tranquility of the location.
In the field of ruins, the footpaths are covered by paving-blocks, to ensure the safe transport. The garden is wheelchair accessible. To the delight of the younger visitors a beautiful, modern playground is on the site. A few steps away is a small museum shows the history of the area. For your convenience, there is also a hyper-super solar-powered toilet.

We were taken by our private guide. There is a series of small wineries and restuarants on Zrinyi u. road Heviz about 15 minutes walking or 5 minutes driving from Hotel Sante.
I noticed another person mentioned it in a Hotel Sante review.
It is almost a mile long walk with lots of cute rustic houses with underground wine cellars and most wines sold in clear unmarked plastic bottles straight fro the Casks. Lots of neat little homestyle restaurants. Setting is high on a hill with great views.
Lots of official signs set up explaining the area. Mix of locals and tourist 50-50.
I have great photos that show the various winery's and views.
I would like to inculde pictures

We thought there might be an English language movie option, as the town has a lot of tourists. No such luck; they said there would be an English language movie in about two weeks.
