Tilbury Fort is possibly the finest example of a bastioned 17th Century artillery fortress in the Britsh Isles. Today visitors can visit the original Guardhouse, Chapel and Gatehouse buildings as well as the huge eighteenth century gunpowder magazines. You can also explore the Victorian underground magazine passages and imagine what life was like for a gunner in the late nineteenth century. There is a free audio guide, museum, exhibition and gift shop. Hot drinks and a range of light refreshments are available in the shop. There is an indoor Seating area in the old Guardhouse and picnic tables and benches outside.
Suggestion from my Wife. We had vsiited Coalhouse Fort years ago but never Tilbury. Loverly sunny day to wander around. Should have got the audio guide really. Bit of an oasis in a very industrial area. In remarkable condition. Must be a full time job cutting the grass. Could have done with a bit more to read on the history etc. Had lunch in the Worlds End as no snacks available in the fort. they do guided tours for a couple of quid and reckon this is the best way other than audio guide to get the most from your visit. Unfortunately the times didnt work for us.

Great open space, ideal for your dog, your family and you. There are clearly marked areas to let you dog run freely and penned in training areas.
Like all places, it’s only the other people/dog owners that can spoil your walk!
There’s a café and parking on site.

Bluewater's triangular design with a flagship store at each point - Marks & Spencer, John Lewis and House of Fraser - over two levels make shopping a breeze. Wow lots of units closed on my last visit there last week
I know it’s good to evolve but indications of what is coming would be better

Stroods immersive escape rooms great for family, friends and team building! What is Time2Escape? Time2Escape is a fully immersive live escape game where you have one hour to escape and work your way through a number of puzzles riddles and games to escape.
Don't be put off by the façade of the building, which is a door in a parade of shops. We did the escape room as a family of four (2 grown up sons) and it was our first time in an escape room. We didn't know what to expect, but the guys running the place were very welcoming (even though we turned up earlier than expected) and were very good at explaining the process and were very professional.
Don't want to give anything away, but once inside the room, you do get fully immersed in trying to solve your way out & you are able to get some hints if you get stuck. We didn't quite get out, but we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely do it again. A good solid hour of fun & ideal for a group.

Pirate Cove Adventure Park in Bluewater is a great day out for all the family. With two 18-hole mini golf courses, pedalos, Pirate Cove is arguably the best adventure golf centre in Europe.
Great mini golf courses which provided fun for all ages!
We did both courses and kept us entertained the whole way round. Plus if you do both on the same day you get the second half price which was a nice touch!
A couple of the courses had large puddles however it was not much of a problem, just had to hit the ball a little harder!
All in all, a good day out!

Great variety of walks that are clearly marked and explained on maps frequently dotted around so if you just want a gentle stroll or to do the 10km Darnley trail. Dogs are welcomed though there are places where they have to have leads on but they're clearly marked too. Only thing to be aware of is that cyclist also use some of the trails. I generally find dogs and bikes are not always aware of each other.

Little oasis tucked away - fantastic play area for the children with nominal family entrance fee. Children happy to play in sand pit for hours. Staff really helpful and friendly, nice little cafe with good food and drinks. Lovely clean facilities and nice place to chill and relax
