Amazing spot overlooking the ocean from the cliffs above. There is a small observation platform located at the lighthouse. If you drive another 200 meters down the road there is an even better spot for viewing. Highly recommend this spot, especially at sunset.

On the first evening of arrival on Grand Manan we visited this part of our destination. It was magnificent, very dramatic. Ancient cliffs are very spectacular and harsh looking.
Walking along them was giving me goose bumps. There were lots of beautiful plants and flowers blooming and it seemed very remote and isolated.
There were lots of seabirds by the water. they were fishing and flying. On the top of the cliffs we saw a few kinds of sparrows.
We went to the far end of the Head and waited for unforgettable sunset. This is the nicest spot for sunset on the island.

Looks like an awesome idea. We have visited GM several times before but this was the first (and last) time for Post Office Pizza. Great building. A little tacky/touristy inside, but hey, it's a short season...Back to pizza. Order at the PO counter/window and wait for it to be ready. We sat outside on the front deck and the guy brought it out. Pizza was lacking in flavour, strange tasting sauce, but the worst thing was, that in the last slice was a hair. Human hair. When asked by the "staff/owner" how was everything and my hubby told him about the hair, he said "Oh dear" . No apology, no offer or refund/credit, nothing. Oh dear, they just lost a customer, and I suggest you stay away too. Sad, because this island needs restaurants.

The Seal Cove smoke sheds are a designated Provincial Heritage Site. Certainly of interest to history lovers but a real must visit destination for photographers. Check the tides as high tide is more photogenic and the time of day will matter as lighting will of course change. Best bet is to make several visits to the area. Lots of colour, lots of character.

This is a great place for families or those who love animals to visit. The owners obviously love and care for these animals very well. The alpacas were our favorites but were really enjoyed meeting all of the farm animals. We also loved the resident diogs and cats. The shop has interesting things to buy and is also worth checking out. Better yet, you can book to stay at their Chalet in Paradise and enjoy even more time with the animals!

Take the free ferry from Ingalls Head to White Island. Yes, it is free and you can take your car. Take the road to the right as you leave the ferry and follow signs to the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is not all that exceptional, but the beach there is stunning, a great place for a picnic and for beach combing. The cobble stones give way to blue-gray rocks along the shore. The coarse sand in some spots is also blue against a backdrop of yellow flowers. Definitely a highlight of our brief trip to Grand Manan Island!

Deep Cove Beach

Reviewed By ihor s - Toronto, Canada

We liked all Beaches on Grand Manan because they are different but nice at the same time.
Plus all of them have different shores and shapes and also because we like beach combing... for us it's always fascinating to find something new and interesting that belongs to this particular beach.
Beach combing is a great fun. You find stones that are beautiful, picturesque and unique. You wont find two identical stones on the same beach. Plus you relax, you breathe oceanic air, you listen to water's talking, you see birds and water creatures...
It's never boring. Try to look after some interesting stones and you will fall in love with them!
