Unbedingt probieren! Ich liebe sie!

The park is very beautiful, immersed in the nature. The animals have huge spaces, although some of them are very difficult to be seen (especially the Puma). Probably the best attraction are the monkeys and the buffalos. It's worth to pay the (quite expensive) ticket for a visit and I suggest to schedule a whole day. There are several restaurants, coffe shops and bathrooms, especially in the area closer to the Castle. So far so good. Anyway I was quite disappointed for some reasons that I am going to tell you now. First of all, this zoo is indicated already at the highway Exit, but inexplicably, the last two bifurcations are not indicated! So we just drove straight until realizing that we were already outside of the espected area...would it be so difficult to put two more indications after 15 already well placed ones ??? This of course made us nervous even before entry the park....
Second point: indications inside the park are a bit confusing in some bifurcations, especially in the area of the Restaurants where you still have to cross the "Asia" area but the indications only say "Africa -->". When we arrived there, we thought that we were going the bad direction and turned back, until realizing that we just climbed a lot of stairs again and for nothing because the direction "Africa" was the right one to go to the "Asia" area !!!!!!!!!!
The third point are the stairs: in the area of the restaurants there are huge stairs with something like 100 steps, with very unconfortable tracks for strollers (and remember that we did them three times, see previous issues :-((( . For the benefit of people with kids, there should be lift or treadmills similar to those of the supermarkets. Another negative point is the absence of rest areas for self-consumed meals. There is plenty of expensive restaurant but no one table to sit and eat your sandwiches. We did it on a bench, and being 3 adults one teenager and one child it was not easy...
The last Point are the Prices: one coffe Espresso 3,20 euros is really EXAGGERATED !!!!
So, honestly I have to say that if you are a couple or a group of friends with at least one person who already was there, then it is really extraordinary beautiful....but a zoo is made for children, isn't it? And in this case, if you go there for the first time with your family, let's be prepared to several troubles.

Once upon the time around 1990 there was a master confectioner who thought that all the existing chocolate creations on the market are simply a little bit too boring. So after business hours he started to explore in the quietness of his company’s back room...
I had the most delightful time touring the chocolate factory. It was welcoming and clean. It was so much fun to taste as much chocolate as one might want. I was impressed by the fair trade chocolate, the organic production and the large variety of chocolates produced. It should be noted this is not a tour for handicapped persons as there are many many stairs to climb. Loved every minute of the tour. Do not miss.

Vulcano Ursprung will take you to the origin of taste and show you the world of smoked ham as a sensory realm - with information and experiences embedded within a unique ambience filled with enjoyment. On three stories and across 1.000m², visitors to the world of the finest smoked hams will be captivated as they learn everything there is to know about the secrets behind these nobel delicacies, secrets they can learn first-hand on tours through discrete areas of production, processing, and maturing techniques: From the large smoked ham made of stainless steel at the entrance to the welcoming lobby, the arcadet sidewalk, the pig stalls, and the regional assortment of delicacies to the one-of-a-kind room designed to stimulate your senses with creative exhibits and swinging smoked hams. The adjacent smoked ham bar, the specialities store, and arched cellar area ensure that everything here will appeal to your palate. As a particularly interesting "extra" visitors will be greeted right at the beginning by Vulcana, the symbol of Vulcano, designed and painted by Dominika Kalcher, and whose story can be heard in a film narration by Folke Tegetthoff. The sensory nature of the information will surprise your eyes, ears, nose, and will certainly serve to prepare you for the right taste. Enjoy the origin.

Mysteriously hidden in the wild and romantic landscape of the Feistritzklamm is located one of Austria’s most famous castles: Castle Herberstein
We went early in the morning which was great for seeing the small zoo and the Gardens, but didn't work out for the castle tour. The first tour was at noon the day we went, and we had seen all we wanted to see by 10:30. We could have spent the hour and a half looking at more of the Gardens, or eating something in the restaurant, but restaurant was a bit pricey and it was a hot day. We saw as much of the castle as we could with the tour (mostly just the outside) and then headed back to our hotel. The price of the zoo, Gardens and castle tour, at the time we visited, were all included in one price. You could not pay for just one, or parts of the castle visit.
Great place to take children! And don't miss the modern art exhibit in the museum near the Gardens. Quite impressive.

From the iconic photos of Graz, this point in the city should definitely be in your to-visit list of any person who would be going to this UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are various options for all kinds of visitors- if you’re feeling a tad adventurous and up for the stairs leading up to the clock tower, by all means, you can ascend via the stairs. But if you are lacking in time and would like to conserve your energy, you can take the lift for a minimum charge of €1.50.
Up the hill, there are walkways, park benches, Gardens, restaurants and various points at which you could soak in the city skyline. This is a really nice place to spend the morning or end a day.

We went there after Reading the comments on TripAdvisor. Finding the place can be a bit tricky though. The old lady was really sweet and somehow fitting to the history of the machine. She explained the parts and what his inventor wanted to express. Once the colorful machine is turned on it makes all sorts of noises and lights. A unique machine!
