Worth a look when in town. Impressive externally and pretty good internally. Have seen better churches elsewhere but still worth a look.

Wonderful hotel, breakfast & evening meal fabulous choices, even got an upgrade to a suite! For me personally, only thing missing were facilities to make a coffee on waking, a necessity for me!

From outside, this church may look like old and ordinary but when you go inside, you realise what a secret jewel it is. It dates from the Carolingian ages, so its decoration is simple but quite breathtaking. It is for free. Taking pictures isn't allowed.

Schlossgarten in Fulda is well worth a visit. Fulda is not a huge city, making it very walk-able. I would recommend going to the Cathedral then crossing the road to Schlossgarten. The garden is beautifully done, and well taken care of. Along the walkways here there are Fountains, old trees, flowers and a large pond. Not only is the garden beautiful but the surrounding buildings and architecture is just as pleasant. You can spend time relaxing here with a book, bike riding, taking photographs, etc. The park is a lot bigger then I originally thought as I usually walk to the pond then up to the schloss. If you are into photography, there are many great views here at Schlossgarten. The trails here are nice and flat, so anyone can enjoy the Gardens here.

Many people visit Fulda to see the Cathedral. Just a few metres away is the city palace of the former abbots of Fulda. It is one of the most beautiful city palaces in Germany and was not hit by the war. Some of the rooms are used nowadays by the city administration. In case there is a wedding, the chapel and the emperor's hall might be closed down. That was the case when i visited but I was impressed nonetheless. Since it was winter the park was pretty empty, but have a look through the glass doors of the orangerie as well. Nowadays a congress center, the central hall is magnificent as well (especially if illuminated during the night).

We were under-impressed with the church itself. It was interesting to find a couple of altars (we were there at the beginning of October) set up with “offerings” I guess. One was fruits; the other was veg. Interesting. The church itself is rather blah. However, the views into the city from up there were great!

Had an evening dinner function with over 100 people inside this museum. Very unusual, seeing these old fire engines.
