We only had enough time to do the 2.5 hours circuit (suitable for families) but had such an amazing time.
The park charges 5 euros per person for the entrance and the parking + bus transport to and from the dam is free. You can arrive before 7am if you wish to be able to drive to the dam and avoid the bus journey (about 15-20 minutes). The buses are frequent (every 15 minutes) and are comfortable.
The park itself is very clean and the lakes, rivers and woods are absolutely beautiful.
Without a doubt, this is one of the prettiest places in Europe.

This is a very special kind of zoo. Firstly the animals were in their natural habitat in large enough enclosures to be completely at home and happily breeding. The three bear cubs were just extraordinary and their wonderful mum! The little marmotte popped up from his burrow and he was looking at us and we were looking at him! Then most of the enclosures (not the bears or the wild boar) we were walking through the enclosures of the animals. The different species of deer were wonderful to watch and we could have stayed there all day. Then there is the view of the surrounding snow covered Mountains and the fantastic scenery, this combined a walk with the magic of wildlife that didn't run away. Highly recommend this.

We arrived at this ferme with hopes of seeing local animals and maybe cheese making or milking of cows/goats.
We did see local animals, in enclosures of barbed or electrified wire. We literally walked around the entire grounds in 5 minutes. Milking demonstrations would only start late in the afternoon, so maybe our timing was off.
The staff was rude when we asked for things to do until the demonstrations would start. They have a bouncy castle but it was occupied by boys of about 15 years of age.
We went inside the barn in hopes of finding some cheese in various stages of creation, but none of that, just a small shop selling overprices local products.
We paid 12 euro for 2 adults and 1 child and were back at our car within 15 minutes. We made a friendly attempt at getting our money back, but were told this was not possible. Too bad.

This site is an research center focusing on experimental solar energy. It includes a interesting, though basic museum (with English handout) and a film with an English version. The guide went out of his way to help me understand the site because I do not speak French (my partner who was with me speaks limited French). After the museum the guide showed us several experiments with the solar furnace. This site is incredibly unique and according to those present is the first and largest facility of this type in the world (and probably one of the only ones that can be toured).

Very expensive, but you get a lot.
Outside there are 3 pools, one large and two smaller, each with varying degrees of warm and number of underwater massage vents and shower massage vents. Inside is a large shallow pool (also with massage vents) and a hottub, both much warmer than outside. The is also a sauna, hamam and 'relaxation space' inside. They have a large area with lots of changing cabins and lockers like in swimming pools (key on of braclet).
We went in the middle of the winter and it was great. Sitting in the outside pool as hikers in winter jackets, hats and gloves walked by on the nearby path just added to the ambiance, and made one even more relaxed and warm..After a couple of hours and going from pool, to pool, to sauna, to pool...., I could have stayed much longer but we still had a long drive to get home and so had to leave.
I recommend it, just bring your own towel and be prepared for the price.

To 5 mn of the heart of the old village of the granite stone carvers, the roman baths of Dorres welcome you all the year for a relaxation break. The source of sulfurous hot water goes out naturally to 40° in an outdoor space (3 basins and 2 individual bathtubs) with a panoramic view on the massif of Puigmal. The tranquility of the place and the strength of the granite will offer you a moment favored to get fresh ideas...
We visited the Dorres Baths staying at the Hotel marty, they gave us a money off voucher. The baths are really interesting, they do stink of sulphur, but it soon washes off. We used the original roman bath tubs, up the hill from the newly...MoreI'm delight that you liked your passage in the baths of Dorres. However, their virtue just stays one moment of relaxation ... :D

I went on two days hikes snow shoeing with Marius. It was an amazing experience and I'll definitely recommend him. Being a solo female it's always important to have a good guide. He was really helpful before answering any questions I had about the hikes with him and even the rest of my holiday, during ensuring I was comfortable, and after sending me great photos! I wanted to hike in the snow and explore the area - he set up two great days, both very different. One challenging to the peak of a ski slope and the next of beautiful woodlands and lakes. Throughout the walks he talked about the history of the area too and the nature around us; very knowledgable and great English! Can't recommend him enough :) thank you!!

This ski resort is amazing but it lacks one basic thing: snow
In the last 10 years an investment has been made with snow guns but it is still not enough. Besides the ski resort is run by the municipality which makes things more complicated.
This season (2015/2016) they wanted to close the resort the week before Easter Holidays and just when there was more snow. Finally and after receiving lots of complains from Season Pass Holders they decided to keep the resort open for one more week.
