This is one of the main landmarks that can be seen in this town... it is an impressive sight to see this gate from a distance.... You can't go in, but you can go under it... it gives you an idear what this little town must have been like... that it has quite some history... this gate dates back from the 16th century and it has changed much since.
A must see in this town, but to be honest you can't miss it!.

You can purchase tickets online for a reduced cost. I suggest doing this because the line or entrance is long.
Make sure to purchase parking ahead of time. At closing the parking ticket machine line was VERY long. Avoid that.
There is a way to purchase a line cutting ticket on your phone. I did not know about it until we were already there. I would do it again if we returned.
Park closing times vary by the day - so check into that. The day we went it closed at 6:00pm and it wasn't really enough time. We were able to go on all the roller coasters but not all the smaller rides.
There is an app where you can track the wait times for each ride. There are also screens around the park that list the times.
Please note that a bunch of the roller coasters do not allow scarfs, this includes head scarfs.
The park has a play land for smaller children but it is definitely geared more towards older children. When we visited it was full of teenagers.
Wish they would ban smoking in the park. Especially in line when you are stuck standing next to someone and they are smoking.
You can bring in your own sandwiches and snacks.
The drive there is beautiful.

In the past year I have visited these Gardens several times with my girlfriend. There is a lot to see and learn for young and old. All along the different walks they have set out, there are questions to answer, physical exercises and fun things to do. The thing which always surprises me how well kept the Gardens are. After finishing the walks in the park you can also enter the woods adjacent to the park.

Even getwijfeld, want ja, vinden meisjes dit leuk???? Bedankt!!!

This museum has a unique series of life size paintings of all Royals of the House of Orange on display, including the present Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Starting with William of Orange in the 16th century you can follow Princes, Kings and Queens through the ages. Furthermore the museum has an interesting, well set up exhibition on the relation of the Dutch with water and changing Exhibitions from contemporary artists. You can also see a beautiful old court room with magnificient details (see picture). The museum lies in the center of the old part of Kampen, close to the bridge over the IJssel. River and just 15km (10 mile) or a 10 minute train ride from main town Zwolle. All-in-all well worth the trip.

former World War two hiding place with reconstructed huts. A interesting place to visit during a cycle tour in the environment. The 'village' is hidden in the Woods near a dead end road called 'pas op weg'. The signing to the village is good.

Until WWII Elburg had a thriving Jewish community. In the Synagogue or sjoel of Elburg, many ritual items are displayed, as well as history pertaining to the Jews. There's a picture of Jewish women. One face stands out (to me), and a bit later one sees that this person worked as a nurse at the front in WWI, where she was killed. I think this Synagogue is comparable to the Portuguese Synagogue in Amsterdam.
