El Quisco is a Chilean city and commune in San Antonio Province, Valparaíso Region. Located in the country's central coast, it serves as a popular summer resort for the population of Santiago and forms part of the Coast of Poets, a cultural space named for four Chilean poets of world renown: Pablo Neruda, Vicente Huidobro, Violeta Parra and Nicanor Parra. Isla Negra is the last house he lived in before he died and it's where he was finally laid to rest - overlooking the sea. The location is beautiful, the house is unique and in keeping with his passion for ships. Neruda was a collector of things which are displayed through out the house. A separate section was added to display the many seashells he collected from around the globe. It is well worth the visit. If you want to avoid long lines it's advisable to get there early. Even if you have to wait you can spend time down at the shore or wander through the artists selling their wares along the path to the house or in the Cafe Restaurante Rincon del Poeta.

It does get really crowded in the summer, but it has wonderful tide pools, zip line, boats to rent, rocks to climb on, calm water for swimming, enough waves for boogie boarding, snacks, bathrooms, and all variety of things you may need for the beach for sale. We go early and leave early. By 2 in the afternoon in the summer, it is filling up.

This is one of the places left in "El Quisco" that still, in my opinion, not as popular as other places in this region. Here you can enjoy of the beach but also go trekking, which one is not hard for children or old people. Besides you can go to an old monastery which is really beautiful and mysterious. I recommend you to go there in low season and just for a couple of days, so as to relax and get out of the routine, because besides the beach, the trekking trail and the monastery, there is not much to do here, but still a good place.

This charming home of the famous Chilean poet overlooks the Pacific and contains unusual collections, the tuxedo he wore when accepting the 1971 Nobel Prize and the simple burial plot of Neruda and his wife.
Isla Negra is where Pablo Neruda and his wife, Matilde Urrutia, are buried, overlooking the ocean. This house is huge, and with beautiful Gardens and views. He loved to collect many things: shells, ships in bottles, BUGS!, figureheads, coloured glass, beautiful tableware, and many others. This tour is the longest of the three Neruda homes, with individual headsets. The English is excellent and clear. Highly recommended!

We were there in what is the off season for the penguins. A lovely boat ride, but disappointing when there were no penguins.

After a day of walking I would like to recommend a place to eat, Its name is "El Rincón Playero" . Even though It is a small place is perfect to enjoy a good meal or dinner at night. Is not that expensive, we ate pizza and it was delicious. The atmosphere was good, quiet and the day I visited that place, there was a small exhibition. It was very nice.
