About 50 miles northeast of Trento, Corvara in Badia is the principle town of Alta Badia, a ski resort area at the top end of the Val Badia Valley in Bolzano-Bozen. Home to many alpine skiing World Cup events, the gorgeous mountain region also has many lovely towns and beautiful sights not on the normal beaten tourist path, such as the Sante Croce pilgrimage church and the Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor (Little Ladin Museum), honoring the unique Dolomite culture of the local Ladin people.

Went in a big group of mixed abilities skiing. We all had a great week, although a bit limited for nutters/very advanced skiers. We all agreed that piste map is dreadful and on piste signage poor. One sign actually sends you 180 degrees wrong way! Piste grooming good and some super long wide fast blue/red runs. Big area, would go back

Take your arrival day to become acquainted with this most gorgeous Ladin Valley in the Dolomites with a walk through the tiny town of Corvara and head west to Cascade del Pisciadu. In less than an hour through rolling forest on a typical granular trail you will arrive to a wonderful double falls adjacent to a wide Meadow on the way to Past Gardena.
The falls are majestic, maybe 150 meters high flowing through the common rock sites of these unique Mountains. A small pool and spray await you after a tiny climb to its base.
For those wishing a more challenging ascent to the pass, continue west up avalanche terrain or head north from the falls to the base of the gondola for an incredibly scenic ride (with midway station) to the top of the Paso Gardena, Jimmy's Huitte for lunch or apris hiking and views of the Val Gardena and back to Val Badia and Corvara / Colfosco villages.
On the south side of the valley is a famed via ferrata called Tridentia with a hanging bridge for the most adventurous; call Badia Guides for info.
It would have been quite awesome if a via ferrata had been created up the Sella Massif around the fall itself!
We can't wait to return and express the Sella Massif and more of this area.

Go early to avoid line and afternoon storms, and find parking. Great hiking from top but if you go far from top be equipped with the correct hiking gear.

Pleasant little spot - not spectacular but very pretty. Visited as we walked down from Refugio Franz Kostner.

Percorso lungo fiume non lontano dalla statale ideale per sgranchirsi le gambe o semplicemente fare una passeggiata di qualche chilometro. In ogni caso come passeggiate, anche molto facili, c'è di meglio

There were 6 young children in our group. They only did 4 days of ski school but we couldn't believe how good they were after 4 days. The teachers were so kind and patient. I hadn't skiied in 10 years after an accident and after 1 morn in ski school I felt so much more confident. I was so nervous before and Heinrich was so kind to me. I thought it was a brilliant ski school for all the family
