I recently camped at Gatineau Park. It wasn't until we looked at the park map that we saw a hiking trail marked with 'Lusk Cave' at its far end, and so we went. The #50 trail is wide and follows the lake from the 'Parent Beach' to the end of the lake, about 5km, after which you have to take a narrower trail that goes uphill through the forest. If it wasn't for the sign that shows a diagram of the cave you wouldn't even know it was there. Even so, we had to find the packs and shoes others had left outside the cave in order to find the entrance, which is kind of hidden in a rocky crevasse that has a creek flowing through it. The first section is easy, and the light streaming through the holes in the roof give the cave a really cool ambiance. The second section is harder with a small waterfall to negotiate at the start and most of this section is in total darkness. We had cheap dollar-store headlamps which were adequate, but did not illuminate very far, especially since the running water made this section very misty in places. That made it both spooky and fun. Bring a hard-hat or climbing helmet if you have one. There are rocks that protrude from the smooth marble all over the place and I cracked my bald head against them more than once. Other people have noted that exiting the last section involved negotiating a very small gap of air between the water pool and the roof of the cave for several feet. Before you take the plunge, take a look for a small circular opening in the wall of the cave to your right, about chest-high. It leads to a narrow passage that by-passes that low spot., but you have to crawl through a very small space lined with bat droppings. So choose you poison.
Overall, it was a great experience, especially given that the park doesn't do anything to advertise that it's there, so I had no great expectations. What the cave does give you is a measure of thrills; darkness, claustrophobia, climbing, dark water, without being so technically difficult that ordinary folk can't do it. My only warning is that you do have to be careful in the second section about your footing. The floor is rocky and wet and there is a small risk of breaking your ankle in a lonely, dark, wet place underground. It all adds to the excitement, though.

Terrible experience. Called and spoke to someone who wouldn’t give here name and was extremely rude. Placed on hold for over 53 minutes, hung up on while on hold, called back to be placed on hold again for another 7 minutes prior to getting to speak to someone to be placed on hold again two additional times, hung up - if this is how awful the service is when I’m trying to book in a full day at Nordik with an e-mailed gift certificate which will not open and no assistance as to how to trouble shoot this situation (was told to call the person and tell them their gift isn’t working - nice)! I couldn’t imagine the service once there, their attitude and approach is very evident that it’s my issue and don’t bother them and deal with it myself. After this experience I will not be recommending this place or ever be visiting. I called back and asked to talk to a manager to let them know how awful the service was and Kim who I was transferred to after the associate who answered yelled for her to pick up the phone then, when speaking with Kim didn’t allow me to talk, her tone was getting louder and louder when I was trying to explain to her that the issue at this point wasn’t the gift certificate issue any longer but the customer service issue at this time along with her attitude so, I hung up feeling that nothing would lead to anything positive granted the experience I had with her associate and now her. Terrible experience, obviously the staff conduct themselves by their example. I feel bad for the person who paid hard earned money for a gift certificate that will never be used - but as, clearly stated - it’s their issue. Bad service.

My husband and I reserved a spot for the Ziplining adult course. The course took approximately three hours to complete and was an absolute challenge. This isn't for the faint of heart. It is three hours of physical activity but highly recommended and highly rewarding. If you think you are going just to zipline from tree to tree, don't go. There are obstacles that are very challenging.
Viktoria was great, and very friendly.
would definitely recommend.

My friends and I did a roadtrip to Montreal specifically to bungee jump. The price was reasonable compared to the United States.
We drove here from Montreal, it was quite a drive but worth it! The place was basically a man made lake (beautiful one) and it had a crane over the lake that you bungee jump off of.
I love this place because I've never heard of a place that lets you bungee jump and lets you CHOOSE whether or not you want your head to dip into the water. I chose to and it was great!
I'd recommend coming here for a jump, its decently priced, pretty scenic, and the guys who worked there were funny as well!
PS. be sure to bring a change of clothes if you plan on jumping into the water, and wear long sleeves/ pants. It gets chilly up at the crane when you're waiting for your friends.
There's also a poutine place around that area for post adrenaline munchies :P

Nice mini-gulf next to a regular golf course. Many sizes of putter for any size players. It can get slow at time, but remember it's for fun... So take your time or go around to the next hole. Water falls are relaxing but the shade of the water ''toilet duck blue', left us smiling anyway. It starting to show traces of weathering here and there. Go early it's more relax.
We would go again for sure.

I thought we would do a light fall hike to Carbide Willson ruins in Gatineau Park, but it was more of a hike than I thought it would be. Very steep hills, so unless you are comfortable hiking those (if the stairs in your house are taking your breath away, don't try this hike).
The last 500m are very uneven terrain, so make sure you wear good hiking shoes.
And make sure you bring your camera.
The parking lot can be busy, and I believe there is a fee during the summer, but by mid October the parking is free.
There are outhouses at the parking lot, but nothing along the path or destination.
The distance from the parking lot is approx. 1.5km (total hike 3km).
There are signs (even though one web site says there aren't any). Once you get to the first bridge, you keep going along the lake and hike up the hill, until you get to a cross roads, where you turn right.
Definitely worth the hike!
If you want to see ruins, but are not up to the hike, I would recommend the McKenzie King Estate in Gatineau Park instead.

Love going to markets when we go to other places. This one was not as big as others we been to but it was still full of charm and treats to buy.

We tried very hard to be positive in spite of the number of negative online reviews. We had lowered our expectations which helped somewhat but, as an attraction (not rating as a restaurant) this cat cafe fails miserably. Yes there are beautiful Siberian cats playing about but customers are greeted upon arrival by rules and more rules, handwashing and immediate ordering at the door before going into the cafe or where the cats are kept.
Upon entering the elusive cat area, we noticed an immediate temperature drop and absolutely no music...no cafe atmosphere. There was an employee with a laser playing with all of the cats at once, having them jump, run, swat and literally flip but patrons were forbidden from doing the same. They were encouraged...to watch. Perhaps they should consider advertising as observational and putting up a glass wall, not permitting anyone inside.
We could pet the cats but it was seldom possible as the laser has them running away from you constantly and when they were not running, they were extremely skittish. We overheard several other people note the same disappointment. Oddly, children under 6 were also permitted inside, which seems contrary to their own rule for adults that you not use fingers in front of cats faces, not pick up cats, not disturb or pet any sleeping cat, not look for cats under couches etc. The children, who by nature could not follow such rules, were understandably being reprimanded by staff and parents alike in a room filled with wild, hiding cats, a laser-waving-feather flicking employee and an echo-like empty ambiance. This was a disturbing and exceedingly awkward experience.
In spite of the incredible tasting food they served (other review) from a very limited menu, we left notably disappointed and disheartened in spite of truly giving them the benefit of the doubt.
Unfortunately, it seems their over protection of the cats is to the point of rendering their cat cafe, pointless, feeling more like being an uninvited guest in a stranger's home. If others take the mindset of no interaction, just sipping coffee and sitting among cats, it still only serves to be a noisy, child-filled, unrelaxing experience.
In terms of an attraction, unfortunately we would not return and could not imagine who we recommend should.
