It is rare that a restaurant experience is as refined as it is at Le Baccara. The menu is varied, the cuisine is out of this world and the service is 6 stars (at least).
We were a family of ten seated at a long table on a Saturday night. We did not feeled rushed. In fact, one person in our group held up service by not closing her menu. Upon seeing her indecisiveness, a waiter offered information and details to help her make a decision.
There were a few surprises (extras offered by management). Not sure if this was because of past visits, however, it was noticed and appreciated.
The decor in the restaurant is interesting but could use some sprucing up. The noise level was a bit high. We would have been better in a closed room but the person responsible for the reservation had not asked therefore we sat in the main room.
One of the down sides is having to walk through the Casino to get the dining room. This is standard and we accept this. It was fascinating to see the people in the Casino. As we are not Casino goers, we took the opportunity to look around. We noticed that many young people go the Casino to take advantage of the live music and dance floor. It appears to be a great venue for them.
Parking is not an issue nor is wheelchair access. Everything is well thought out.
Would go again in a year or so.

Welcome to Aroma Small Plates and Wine. The first of its kind in Canada! Come and enjoy "Meze" the food that reflects the way of life in Greek culture. Meze...an eating style, ancient in origin, favored in Greece and the Mediterranean. It is where eating is a hospitality and a celebration.
Always consistent food and service. Great wine selection. Make a reservation to avoid disappointment. Lunch or dinner are both fantastic dining experiences.

Our restaurant's name reflects the quality of the meat that is served. Sterling Silver's remarkable breeding philosophy produces the highest quality of meat in Canada. Not only does Sterling Silver ensure incredible taste and tenderness, it surpasses any expectations.
Excellent quality steak, grilled over maple wood, to the perfect temperature....no frills...just good...the twice baked potato was the best I've had, and the chocolate terrine was simple and good... Service was professional and friendly... I got exactly what I hope for.... Highly recommended

Family owned and operated, Chez Fatima is a place where you can discover the delicate seasonings of Moroccan cuisine. During lunch hours we serve a buffet featuring a wide variety of Moroccan salads and warm dishes. As of summer 2015, we are expanding our menu to include more Mediterranean food. This expansion includes a revamped lunch menu, buffet and the addition of Frank Bartha in the kitchen.
My wife and I attended this restaurant based on the trip advisor rating, and we were not disappointed.
We showed up a half hour before they opened, but they still seated us, with bread, olives, and drinks. The bread was incredible! Warm and sooo crispy! The mint tea was fantastic.
The service was great. The food was excellent. It is a warm and cozy restaurant. Authentic home style cooking.

A family owned and operated since 1973 .
We stopped here to grab a pizza to go for our long drive back, and after Reading the reviews and this place being so highly rates, I was not disappointed. The pizza was loaded.. and I mean loaded with toppings - we ordered the signature Cumberland pizza. The staff was friendly and helpful and energetic when we walked in to order - rare thing to see form a pizza place.
The pizza was delicious, the crust (outer edge) was a little drier and crispier than I like but I didn't get dipping sauce as that would have made it great.

Fairouz is a Middle East inspired upscale casual restaurant that showcases the ingredients, flavours, and recipes of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine in a service-focused environment with modern touches. With the addition of our Urban Cultivator, we grow all of our herbs and micro-greens in-house. The pita bread is also made fresh to order. We pride ourself on our relationship with local farms and purveyors.
We went for dinner and ordered the muhammara , kebabs, halloumi, and scallops. The service in the restaurant was on point. The muhammara was good- the pitas were warm and fresh. The kebabs were mediocre and tasted like something you would get at Lonestar. The halloumi was excellent. The low point of the whole meal was the $40 scallops. They tasted like scallops you would buy in brine at the grocery store, you know, the salty fishy taste. We were presented with 5 small scallops that were cooked just fine, they just tasted bad. Don’t order the scallops.

This was my first visit to Play Food and Wine after hearing positive reviews for years. We enjoyed the halloumi, steak, trout, and fusilli. The trout was definitely my favourite of them all. We seem to have chosen the most filling items, so by the third dish we were getting full. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert, but the menu looked very appealing. Our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine menus.

If you are in Ottawa s Byward Market at lunch time, a good choice for a real meal is the restaurant at La Bottega , an Italian food store. Note - if you want a generous Sandwich with cheese and cold cuts..join the queue.
At the back there is a small restaurant, always full, usually possible to squeeze in if you will wait a moment. It is hard to review though it is certainly very good. The reason it is hard is that it alternates between a new chef trying to raise the food to cuisine - and some wonderful Cooks making Italian home cooking . Regulars like the established and more generous approach...but the innovations are also good. It is random who is running the kitchen any given day it seems. You cannot go wrong. Excellent specials include veal and chicken dishes often , hearty soups, pasta there is always something to like. And if you wish a great tuna or chicken or almond salad.,- no pasta...there is that too . Selections of wine, Tiramisu.. I feel like a traitor telling more people about it. The one thing I do not understand is the pizza - very good and as a result of changes now huge - where it was manageable and came with salad. If you are two - order one pizza and a salad and share. If you are on your own, you better like cold pizza for breakfast .
