We enjoyed visiting this beautiful property together with the history of this Aristocrratic Family in the Times of the British colony. A great artist and architect of Gardens design. Definitely recommendable. Pity that the foundations of Sri Lanka do not invest to keep it nicer. Renovations works are needed because it is falling a liitle bit apart in the Gardens.

The captain will set the sails around the Galle Fort and its lighthouse, where you will get a magnificent view of the old fort, then we will sail to Unawatuna bay near the Japanese Pagoda. The Captain will drop the anchor in Jungle beach. There you can swim, snorkel and do some stand up paddle board with our life guard. While you enjoy the water, the Chef takes out the plancha-BBQ.
We went Sailing for the first time ,and it was fantastic experience truely ...
We were staying @hikkaduwa, but the team (Alexandre) arranged for a pick and drop from our villa to Beruwala ...
The crew of the ship were really good , they not only helped us make our experience memorable, but took really good care of us.
We sailed with a movie crew, so that itself made it so assorted , we were really pampered . Crew member Kumaran deserves special mention, as he took us around the island and helped us spot the best corals and fishes around . On our way back , we had music , food ,some drink s ,and clicked loads of pictures with crew :)
Very well managed by team : Sail Lanka Charter .
Its highly recommended for travelers visiting south sril lanka.

Enjoyed a helicopter flight operated by Skylark Helicopters over the island, see uploaded image. Watching the sunset, looking over to the lighthouse whilst standing on the beach is truly amazing.

Because of the reef which is about 500 meters in the sea from the shore, the water is calm and ideal for swimming. Otherwise we found waters to be rough elsewhere and beyond the reef. It's right in front of the cinnamon bey hotel

We visited the mosque as part of a half day trip around Beruwala and the adjoining village Buddhist Temple.
Nice architecture, located on top of a hill besides moored fishing vessels.
The historical site is based on the first (Yemeni) Muslims landing in Sri Lanka and the graves of two of these people are situated just outside the mosque with a third inside the mosque - given the propensity of the worshippers at the mosque you can class this as a "Durgha" site.
We had a tour of the orphanage located next to the mosque which was rather humbling.
Some contributions to the mosque, orphanage, and the Mosque caretaker before leaving.
Great view of the village and the ocean from the mosque.
You can stop by and tour the area comfortably within one hour.

Sriyan Jewellers are one of Sri Lanka’s largest and most respected jewellery manufacturers; offering unique gemstones and modern ‘handmade’ jewellery made from the very highest quality certified precious semi-precious stones and officially hallmarked gold and silver.
I visited this small shop virtually on the beach in a quiet, beautiful area. We learned lots about the gemstones, and saw and handled both rough and polished stones, as well as lots of hand made and personally designed jewellery. We tried many pieces on, some quite expensive. I really enjoyed the visit, and the purchases I made. Thanks Sameera.

Built in 920 AD presumably by Arab traders who frequented Sri Lanka by sea looking for spices. The place is quite large and kept very clean with a landscaped garden a part of which is a cemetery.
