Penglipuran is a little Baliaga village located near Bangli which is not belong into main tourist area. The layout is beautiful delimited by rows of old houses with four layers bamboo roofs. With paying entrance, you can visit the houses using the number given to you. Local people are friendly but they don’t really speak English

A much smaller version of Besakih, located in central/eastern side of Bali. The hustlers were tame compared to Besakih but it did cost IDR30,000 each. As with other temples, everyone needs to wear a sarong and sash. In front of the main entrance, was a long flight of steps with old looking statues on either side. Through the first gates was a magnificent banyan tree and a curious wall covered with Dutch pottery. Unsure of the significance. The interior had smaller "chapels", some with more beautiful sculptures. 40 minutes would be enough to take a vast number of photographs. Highly recommended.

Hikers will enjoy climbing this volcano, and the rewards of the views into the crater and of the crystal clear waters of Lake Batur. (Note: visibility may be limited during the rainy season, Dec.-March.)
Even if you know, that you can climb on Mount Batur without guide, they don’t let you go. We wanted go at the morning, at 5am, but they stop us - six guys, not friendly at all, even oposite, I mean agresive guys, and no possibility to pass them. Entrence is 100.000 IDR per person for a reservetion, plus they wanted 300.000 IDR per person for a guide. Not professional, just guy from Village. If you are more then two people, you can find even cheaper guide. I meant if you want pay for easy trekk to top, from Láva hostel (the most easy way, 1hour 20min maximum).

This crystal clear lake, some 65 meters deep, was formed by an ancient volcanic eruption.
I cannot remember how many times I have visited this amazing location, but it is quite a few. You can take a small road down the mountain to the lake where there are sporadic house. If lucky you can get a really beautiful view of Mount Batur and see the small fumeroles on it's side. If you decide to cross the lake to get top the base of the volcano you can experience hot Springs at the water's edge where the water will feel very warm indeed. Most people will choose to take a boat across to the village of Trunyan to see the open cemetery where the dead are laid above ground under bamboo covers. That is a nice journey and visist too.

I was lucky to experience this amazing waterfall with friends. Absolutely beautiful, nature showing off once again. Unfortunately we could not swim as it was raining season and the water was not clear at all, which makes it dangerous. Parents can take their kids with. If you want to do a modeling shoot there arrange something, or take everyone else in consideration that wants to take photos. I would recommend this waterfall, it is definitely a must. Especially if you enjoy hiking and exploring nature.

Ouch... Getting wet when we arrived at this place, almost 30 minute to waiting rain stopped. But it does not matter when we start to go to the main village, wow... it's amazing traditional village. There are about 70 houses with original architecture, but there are little house has got a modern touches. Parking areas is not too big, that's why make us dissatisfied because it requires 10 minutes to park our car. But as long as we are in this place, we were very pleased. We could take some picture with good view.

At this Hindu temple, you can arrange a purification ceremony, where you walk into the river and wash in the holy waters. A priest will bless you and pray with you. Best of all, you don't have to be Hindu. Any religion is welcome. The color and majesty of the temple and the prayers and shrines are unforgettable.
