Well-known as the perfect venue for a stylish evening out, we offer guests live entertainment from our dance floor alongside superb dinner courses. Renowned for our fresh seafood and Chalmar steak, our menu comprises of classic dishes with a subtle Portuguese flair. Including a spacious cigar lounge and private dining room our venue is versatile as well as suitable for private functions.
What a delight to find a restaurant where service, food and ambiance combine to make a wonderful mix. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Our waiter's recommendations were spot on. The food flavours were sublime and the portion sizes surprisingly large. I was on crutches and the management saw me "walking" toward the restrooms, only to move ahead of me to open doors and assist. in a time were service excellence has become a rarity, Pigalle stands out for me as a cut above. Have been singing there praises to many and will definitely be back!

Addis in Cape! Voted best African Eatery in Cape Town, an authentic Ethiopian restaurant that caters for Non-vegetarian, Vegan and Vegetarian clients. We provide a unique communal dining experience you, your family and friends will remember. From traditional hand-wash ceremonies to our traditional Ethiopian coffee we promise a memorable experience. Ethiopian cuisine is famous for its rich aromas and generous use of herbs and spices. The country was historically situated on trading routes that included the trade of many exotic spices; this history has had a tremendous influence on the taste of Ethiopian food as we know it. Today most of the herbs and spices are blended and prepared in the home with great love and attention, as are those used in Addis in Cape. The dishes that you taste here are unique to Ethiopia and we are proud as a restaurant to share them with you.

In the last 3 weeks we have visited Fork 5 times. As locals we have tried many places that serve tapas and this is definitely one of the best. The only way to describe the tapas is DELICIOUS and they are consistently that way. We love the Raclette fondue, the Fig rocket tomatoe and feta salad and the pan seared ostrich fillet on sweet potato amongst many others. The restaurant is a piece of fun sophistication in Vibey Long street with great service and decent wines. Not to be missed!

Dinner on a Monday evening and the place the buzzing. Casual atmosphere with friendly professional service made for a comfortable experience. We ate prawns, oysters and mussels to start - the prawns were outstanding. Blue nose for main course with al dente stir fry veg were incredibly delicious. Cheesecake to finish was also surprisingly good. Will remember this place for a long time to come. Highly recommmended.

Booking process needs changing. They release bookings once every few months, 3 months ahead at 8AM South African time. Travelling from the UK, I tried to secure a booking within 2 hours of them releasing an allocation to no avail. It was completely booked out.
How about - release them gradually, giving people a better chance to book. This is a restaurant, not an Apple store, not everyone wants to camp out overnight to be first in line to be relieved of their cash, before the proprietor runs out of stock, or in this case, booking allocations.
Website says, e-mail for lunch Reservations. Upon e-mailing you get an auto responder saying bookings over e-mail will not be accepted.
A restaurant is not just about food, it is about the overall experience, and if you can't even get a table, the experience sucks right from the outset.

Locally sourced and seasonal menu
The staff and management were friendly and accommodating. Choices were limited as lunch was almost over. Perhaps some generic menu options would alleviate this. But I do feel that R185 for pork belly swimming in a broth isn't really good value. The coriander was a...MoreOnes tries ones best to read walk-ins but gauranteed this time of year a spur customer falls thru the cracks

We went here for a 'goodbye dinner' after three months of cape Town. What was supposed to be the best dinner of our time in South Africa turned out to be a rather overpriced and underperforming dinner.
There is nothing 'wrong' with the dishes, but for a restaurant that pretends to be the best of CT and charges prices to back that up, the food lacks balance and variety. Instead of focusing on the food and the absolute flavor they seem to go for 'trendy and hip'. I don't see why a highly priced bite-sized dish comes in a paper wrap and cardboard box, unless this adds something to the flavor (which it doesn't).
The food is comparable to places that charge much less and worse to places that charge similar prices.
To me it feels this place has hit its peak a while ago and now is riding on their reputation, instead of building a new one.
There is not one dish that stood out. If I had to choose it would be the beef fillet, but even that is nothing special.
Service is ok, waiters seem to have memorized the dishes but are clearly not passionate about the food and lack the ability to really explain the Delicacy or complexity of a dish.
If they would charge 1/5th of the price they would have gotten five stars. But for a restaurant that claims to be the best there is a lot that needs to be improved.
Note: I've been in cape Town over 15 months and have visited dozens of restaurants.

So be prepared for it to be crowded and their system is kinda of a funny one as you stand in line to order your food but then pay later. I found it a bit inefficient and awkward, but who cares because the food is delicious. We were kinda squeezed in but it's so yummy. Loved all the salads and the LOVE Sandwich is SO GOOD. I wish we had had time to go back a second time while we in Cape Town. Definitely worth a visit!

Truth Coffee is first and foremost a coffee roastery. We pride ourselves on artisan coffee. Secondly it is a steampunk cafe, named by MSN Travel UK's Tom Midlane, the best coffee shop in the world" and the Guardian Newspaper said, "Probably the coolest cafe in the World"
We had some amazing coffees whilst we were wandering around Buitenkant Street. The coffees at this café were amongst the best I've had in a long time. The coffee beans used were of the finest quality as they were strong, intense and the smells were so natural and beautiful. I always drink coffee that is black because I feel you get the natural and authentic flavours if the coffee is black, I called it " Black Beauty", and the black coffee here was fantastic. My wife enjoyed her cappuccino while our daughter enjoyed her lovely herbal tea. Overall this was a very relaxing early morning coffee break with great coffees, warm service with friendly staff.

A handful of friends and I ended up at Stardust Restaurant on a Wednesday evening, only to be hugely surprised by the combination of Brilliant Food, Brilliant Service and Amazing Performances by their own Waitering staff. It’s a place I would highly suggest making a booking for and trying their Lamb Shank... delicious!
