We are a total healthy living store. We sell everything from fresh juices and smoothies to a tasty "real food" menu that caters for all food choices eg; vegans, gluten free, paleo etc
Dropped in first time for a quick coffee after walking past quite a few times nice sitting area which is nice and peaceful not noisy like many other places in town great place to read the paper and reflect lots of cakes on offer and...MoreThanks Jan. It's organic panella which is a raw sugar cane juice with minimal processing. Not so sweet but very tasty! We like to create a calm space for people...we have just finished our outside garden. Love you to come and check it out :)

We went for dinner here after finding the Kilcunda pub not to our liking, we were very pleasantly surprised, the serves were very much your working men serves and also very tasty. Both my wife and I had the lamb shanks and found them really tasty and well cooked, also the bottle of wine we shared was a lot cheaper than the Killy pub. We love our food and don't mind paying good dollars for nice food and atmosphere but unfortunately the Killy pub had neither. Highly recommend this place if you want some good wholesome food like your mum cooked and the service was very good as well

Quality coffee, locally-sourced produce and a convivial atmosphere are the hallmarks of this funky cafe. It's located in the heart of Wonthaggi, an authentic rural town located in south Gippsland, Victoria. The cafe's design is a contemporary industrial style space of exposed brick walls, funky counters and polished concrete floors. The space is modern and unpretentious - much like Wonthaggi with its coal mining past and down to earth farming and rural clientele. As the name suggests, coffee is of supreme importance at The Coffee Collective. Customers received Melbourne-quality coffee, each and every visit. With a background in tourism, owners James Archibald and Ella Godbold knew of the amazing food producers in the Gippsland area and wanted to showcase the great local produce on offer. The menu includes slow cooked local pulled pork baguette, South Gippsland beef burger with house-made pickles and the Quinoa burger. Breakfast is also served daily. The flavours are fresh, with a focus on locally sourced products. The Collective's take on food is stylish and modern. The focus is simple local, organic and sustainable food served alongside Gippsland's best coffee offering.
If you want to go somewhere for a relaxing meal and coffee, this place definitely isn’t it. Huge line to order (a majority take away customers not eat in), unenjoyable food and overwhelmingly loud. A majority of the noise was being made by the kitchen and not the customers and to top it off loud music was blaring. For a breakfast it just didn’t do it for me.

As we'd not visited for a while, my companion and I decided to check out this club again. Although (admittedly) the decore is a bit drab, I was very (very) pleasantly surprised with the quality of my steak. I'm quite picky with my steaks and would not normally order a porterhouse; however, I saw one (as we arrived) make its way to another table and it looked too inviting to pass up.
I'm happy to say that it was by far the most tender porterhouse I've ever purchased at a restaurant (or club, etc) and highly recommend, if you like your steak, to give the Wonthaggi Club a go.

6 of us including kids for dinner. Place was very busy when we arrived so glad we had booked ahead a few days before. Very extensive menu with some really good & interesting specials. We had a selection of steaks and seafood dishes all of which were well done and came with good chips and salad. Kids meals were very large compared to other pubs and good quality as well. Service very friendly and despite it being packed, pretty quick as well. Would definitely go back.

Recently we went to Sorrento because, Just Fine Foods boasted the Best Vanilla Slice Ever. How wrong can you be. (see my review of Just Fine Foods). This bakery in Wonthaggi, The Whistle Stop has a French Vanilla Slice that will bring you 100K out of your way. It is SENSATIONAL!! (sorry for shouting.) I asked the counter server Tabatha if we could cut it in two and even then my wife and I could only finish a half of it. The other half happily has come home with us.
My sister had the Bee Sting and being a tourist from Philadelphia, it was her first encounter with one. She is visiting for two more weeks and I can guarantee she will want me to drive the 100K back for another one.
This bakery has a variety of fresh bread, showcases of cakes and biscuits and everything is made on site. It has the largest selection of pies and sausage rolls I have ever seen and also makes sandwiches, salads and vegetarian meals.
Their French Vanilla Slice is mammoth and will cost you $5.00. Their coffee is delicious and their staff are friendly and accommodating. You order at the counter and it is brought out to you.
If you are visiting Wonthaggi or passing through, you owe it to yourself and especially the kids to visit the Whistle Stop Bakery. I hope you do go there.
If I have been any help, please give me a helpful tick. It is nice to get positive feedback!

I stopped by the Hicksborough store yesterday for a light breakfast, and i was quick surprised by what i found within the walls of this historic building. The decor was warm and inviting and the whole place had a "homely" atmosphere. I ordered a simple dish of two poached eggs on toast, as well as a stock standard mug of latte. The meal was served in good time and I sat by myself at a small table. The toast was thick and crunchy and the eggs were the right consistency with a nice gooey center. I where they source their eggs because the yolk was quite pale rather than the rich orangey color you get from a great free range egg. The eggs were served with a side of rocket which seemed to go well with the eggs. The coffee was excellent, not bitter and with the right amount of milky flavour. The staff were pleasant and efficient and the cook enquired as to how I was enjoying my eggs which was nice.
Overall, it was a very nice experience and I will certainly give the Hicksborough another go. I may even have a crack at the big brecky next time. Cheers, Zac.
