My wife and I go here often with friend and family, and we have never had a bad meal. Their menue has a wide variety of food, and their staff is great. If you're looking for a guaranteed good meal give this place a try!

The hot cocoa was delicious: creamy and not cloyingly sweet. We had scoops of delicious creamy ice cream. No matter that it was a chilly March. The atmosphere was warm and cheerful.

Truly at the highest levels of classic French cooking, hotel Sonnora is a small/medium-sized family run hotel in beautiful surroundings in the Mosel valley, about one hour's drive from Luxembourg.
The chef himself is legend and by tasting his creations you will find out why! We took the full tasting menu with a super selection of matching wines.
Service was top-class, very friendly, and the hotel itself was a great place to stay the night.
A special place for a special occasion.

We were driving north from the Mosel valley and left the motorway to head for Wittlich to find somewhere for evening dinner. At a petrol station we asked for a recommendation for a good Italian restaurant and a fellow customer suggested Der Italianer. We even followed him to this place in the car. One of us went to check if there was a table free and we were told that one would be come available in ca. 10 minutes. That should have been a warning to us...
Anyway we parked nearby and settled at one of the tables in a side room - all four adults, two year old child and large Hovawart dog of us. Getting the drinks ordered was OK - they also came relatively quickly given that the place was very full. The problem started after we had eventually ordered our meal. Quite frankly, it took forever for our food to arrive. We didn't even get any pre-dinner nibbles or bread with dips as is so common in Italian restaurants nowadays. And we got ever increasingly hot and bothered as there was little air in the room and it was hot in there! We nevertheless remained patient for near on an hour before the oldest member of our party finally asked for an explanation for the huge delay, particularly as the restaurant had slowly thinned out. It was getting late - well on 10 in the evening! We didn't get an explanation but an apology from a young lady who offered us a round of drinks on the house which was something.
I had ordered the garlic laced snails as a starter followed by a large spicy pizza with pepperoni, spicy sausage and gorgonzola cheese. The others had an assortment of pizzas which were all tasty.
The young Asian looking waitress who served us was very polite and friendly. She also patiently chatted with our two year old, as all the other diners were leaving at the end of the evening. When we were finished we were also offered another round of drinks as is common in many Italian restaurants.
In summary, clearly a popular and good quality Italian restaurant but be sure to bring a lot of time with you, waiting for your meal.

One of my favorite places to eat when I am in town or the area. Traditional regional food with a good selection of wines. Their hours are a bit more convient then other restaurants in town. An institution. Can be tricky to find; Park at P4 and walk toward the right side of the church.

Sorbas is one of our favorite restaurants in Wittlich. The food is always excellent! The menu is huge and it is always a challenge to decide what to eat because there are so many good options. Unlike some of the other Greek restaurants in the area, Sorbas has a separate non-smoking section in the indoor dining area which we appreciate. Ouzo is served with every meal, regardless if you order it or not...! Excellent vegetarian and meat dishes, as well as a kids menu. We have never needed Reservations, but we tend to dine earlier than most locals. During nice weather there is a lovely beer garden and free parking.

This restaurant is one of the more expensive restaurants in Wittlich, but totally worth it! Good steak is hard to find in Germany, but this place has it! 30-40 euros per person without alcohol. The menu features quality Argentinean steaks,Kobe beef, and NY strips, as well as chicken and fish options and traditional German plates such as schnitzel. Each entree comes with a trip to the salad bar. The wine list also has good red options which are hard to find in the area. The restaurant is on the ground floor of local hotel at the end of the town pedestrian area. Great spot for a nice dinner out and excellent food!

The food was really good, although not entirely authentic. The facility was nice, clean and well kept. The staff was courteous and very professional. As I said, food was good not really authentic Greek food. They didn't have hummus with pita bread. Food was very good though. About the only complaint I had about the joint. Would recommend.

This is one of our favorite places to eat in downtown Wittlich and we are regulars! It is located on a small square with plenty of outdoor Seating. The flammkuchen are delicious!!! The menu is limited, but the food is always good. Guests can also order traditional German cuisine for the restaurant next door. We love going to Carpe Diem because the staff is friendly and we always have an enjoyable meal. It's a great spot to stop for a bite to eat or drink throughout the day. This is where the locals go, and we can't say enough good things about it! Locals will often gather here around holidays or big events.

I have been here 3 times now, and I must say that the atmosphere really shapes the experience. This is a beautiful restaurant, perfect for a romantic evening. Old school charm, creaking wooden floors, nice decor, very Italian. The owner and his brother are very personable and do their best with English. The food though, it is excellent. I have had the salmon pizza twice, which is perfect and the last time I got Spinach Ravioli, something I get often at Italian restaurants, but this was the best. So creamy yet full of spinach and basil flavor. Perfect, and large portions, excellent value. If you go to Wittlich, go here for dinner.
