It was very quiet when we ate here but it seemed decent and accordingly the food was actually pretty good – it came faster than is normally a good sign, but all the dishes were of a good quality. The atmosphere in the place was hard to judge with only a few other couples in there, but it was a nicely laid out interior. Service was efficient but oddly distant – I think the quietness caused this, but they did also have people watching videos on their phones at the table, not at high volume but it was a bit odd. I would return for the good quality of the food and reasonable price, but maybe would look for a busier night next time.

We had dinner here with or family of four and everyone had a good and enjoyable meal. The menu is what was to be expected from a restaurant like this, solid food prepared well.
Also for a vegetarian there were some good options. Desert was outstanding.

Legendary Ettelsberghütte near the mountain station from the ski lift Willingen. Sigi's Hütte, the most famous mountain hut in the Sauerland is the Ettelsberghütte on top of the Willinger Ettelsberg. It is just a few steps from the major ski lift.
They have truly the best split pea soup ever.
Friendly staff !!, fun music, well priced drinks.

On our way down we passed by this restaurant and wanted to have some refreshments. We ordered cake, ice cream and waffles. The cakes were excellent as were the other things. The waitress was very friendly, although a bit slow (it took some time for us to order the bill). They are renovating right now, so it was a bit noisy.

I liked this restaurant a lot as it was typically German, the food was delicious and plentiful, the staff friendly so it was a nice experience. I think this would also be a good place to go with friends or your partner. My meal including wine and tip cost 22 Euros and for this price, I thought it was very nice indeed. Cheaper meals were available.

We(me and my wife) wanted to try this restaurant because it looked luxurious.
We did not notice anything special(well the foods was late, but that's to be expected sometime) until we had to leave. Although we left approximately 8% tip, the waitress(she was not overloaded for sure, since the restaurant was 75% empty) told us that our coats were in a closet(across the room and not by the exit, btw), so we had top traverse the restaurant to take your own coats. I think that was the most rude waitress we ever met so far.

This is not the first time that we eat in the Brauhaus, but it's the first as a family (spouse, toddler, dog and myself) and I would recommend it for a lunch/early afternoon meal. The place is deceivingly huge (probably as it gets packed at night). Cousins is good, traditional, tasty and with big portions. As most places in Germany, the Brauhaus is dog friendly, if needed a bowl of fresh water will be offered for your pooch. For children there's a small outside play area, but your child will have to be supervised at all times.
As mention in other reviews, bier is really good as well as the varieties on offer.
If you are visiting Willingen solo, with friends or partner (no children or dogs) and you fancy a good night out, the Brauhaus would be a great place to eat, have a few beers and have fun.

We liked completly their portfolio of typical bavarian food, especially the 1 meter - bratwurst (it´s a fantastic starter, especially when you a group). Everything fresh and fast delieverd. Good offers of beer - staff very flexible and always friendly. Once a week there is live-music too. So a good place to finish a hard day of work with the flair of the Alps.

Restaurant "Zum Kanapee" is a small cosy restaurant, part of the hotel "Zur Alten Post", but in a separate building (see picture). The restaurant has the feeling of a large living room with an open kitchen. Over this living room presides a woman, who could easily play the part of cook in a classic movie about a wealthy family. This woman does everything, being chef, cleaning and setting tables, serving food and settle the bill in an unhurried, efficient pace. The schnitzels are well cooked, the beer is cold and the prices are moderate, the more when you take into account the visit to the excellent salad bar, that is included in the price. To find "Zum Kanapee": The entrance is on the side street from the main road through Willingen, leading to the large car park area, under the huge viaduct. The picture attached is taken on this side street with my back to the viaduct.

Never thought I would say this, but after "eating" in this restaurant I longed for the buffet in our all-inclusive hotel.
First of all, I have to say that this restaurant looks absolutely amazing and gives a very traditional, warm and typical feeling (while being built only 14 years ago). Also, after entering and seeing the "Recommended by Michelin" I went in with high expectations together with my family.
As a group of 18 persons we had some requests concerning food even though it was a fixed menu: Two persons do not eat meat - These two received an appalling amount of Sweet potato and Carrot puree as a substitute, nothing more. And second, our children could choose between Schnitzel with fries or Spaghetti - The kids aged between 4 - 12 years old received incredibly small portions and were still hungry. We decided to order additional orders, but after 15 minutes we were told it would take another 20 minutes to have this ready. We cancelled.
Finally, as part of the main dish two of our guests found bugs in their cauliflower and after the fact we informed this to the sommelier he actually went to "discuss" that this was impossible because the vegetables were frozen (REMEMBER RECOMMENDED BY MICHELIN)!! However, after taking the plates to the kitchen he could see that actually there were bugs in it.
In the end nobody was satisfied, they tries to solve the situation with free coffee, a free bottle of wine and desserts for the kids, but it could not take away our complete disappointment after my father's 75 years birthday dinner.
