We loved this Restaurant and would surely go back. The food is super delicious and offers variety of pastas and pizzas. The ambience Is authentically Italian and has a different class. The staff is friendly and provides very quick service. The portion size is enough and they also serve very nice chilly oil to spice up ones taste. Their starter of linsen is very tasty. The price is also reasonable and it's a nice restaurant to take someone special.

The restaurant is very elegant and comfortable. The staff are extremely knowledgable, very professional and yet totally friendly and welcoming. The food is spectacular. You have little choice though. There are three menus (one vegetarian) with either 5, 6, 7 or 8 courses. Every course is a work of art and really beautifully presented and the flavours are very interesting but I couldn't help but feel that some of the authenticity of the food was lost in the huge amount of work that went into transforming every dish into a painting. With many of the dishes, whilst the flavours were lovely, I had no idea what I was eating.
Everything about the restaurant is done to perfection but my word, you pay for it. I cannot fault this restaurant in any way and I particularly want to commend the great staff but I can't say that it is really my taste as I prefer simpler, more authentic food at a tenth of the price.
I fully understand that Michelin stars are warded for precisely what this restaurant does and it fully deserves its two stars. But Michelin stars are not my criteria of a good restaurant.

This place is famous for welcoming ships into the port of Hamburg.
Every time a big ship passes they say hello and play the national anthem, followed by detailed technical information about the ship.
Big Terrace, prices are fairly high, service was good and friendly. All looks pretty new, like recently renovated. It started raining, but 10 minutes before they had closed a transparent curtain, so you still could see the ships very well.
Our kids adored the place and we stayed for a good hour or so.
One minus point is you have to pay 0,70€ per hour for the parking. Do not forget to present your ticket to the service, otherwise it is 2€ per hour. I guess that due to a lack of public parking in the area they need to close their parking off, but it should be inclusive for customers.
All in all an interesting classic, but I am not sure if I will be back.

Small restaurant with really authentic italian feeling. Open kitchen, so that you can watch the cooks prepare the delicious food. A buffet with italian ham, salami and cheese, Dozens of italian wines and a selection of fine antipasti and italian desserts.
I had a soup of the day which turned out to be tomato soup, very delicious, a pizza funghi, very slim and crispy dough just like you get it in Italy. I had half a liter of their delicious red house wine. There was gratis bread and olives and a gratis digestive. All in all I paid 17,50 Euros, a real bargain.
The restaurant is small and cosy, but don't expect it to be hip and chic, it has more the atmosphere of a small trattoria you'll find in some side street in a small italian town.

We've been here now three times, each time because of the great location. It's just a stone's throw from the sandy Elbe beach and you can watch the huge container vessels passing by. The Terrace is a comfortable space to catch some rays and enjoy the scenery.
Elbe 1 offer some nice dishes and each time we have been very happy with the quality, mains cakes and coffee all good.
The service was consistently bad, though. Staff is friendly, but often appear not to have a clue. They ignore customers (not just us) until you call the over, they forget orders, mix things up, take a long time to serve and generally get the wrong end of the stick, it seems. It is such a shame as Elbe1 ticks all the other boxes.
The bad service is something that sticks and is hard to forgot. We'll give them another chance as we like the location.

Wedel must be one of the dullest places on the planet, in fact it's so dull it makes Reading look exciting...and that's saying something. That said, if you're going to Hamburg and want to get a good deal on accommodation and don't mind a 37 minute train journey - Wedel fits the bill. It was therefore to much of my surprise when a friend, who lives there, suggested that we dine at La dolce Vita,
rather than going to one of many brilliant restaurants in Hamburg. What a culinary revelation. Located in an inspiring shopping mall, the place not only features a pleasant ambience and excellent service but also amazingly good food at unbelievably reasonable prices. Yes, I'll come back to Wedel - if only to eat here again...

this restaurant was recommended by out hotel where we passed 4 nights in Wedel for work; after the first night we came back for each dinner in this lovely restaurant, German typical. There is not English menu and waitresses speck little English, but with your mobile you can look for translations easily. Dishes are not too heavy or overdressed, which at the beginning we feared. Meat recommended. I found reasonable prices considering the quality, but check them before entering anyway
