A nice option for trying out typical dishes. We chose the German "sampler' for two and found it quite convenient from the point of view of size and price. Do not forget to order your beer to complete your feast!

A Fuego Lento condenses in the same environment, the peaceful rugged beauty and varied delights accurate marinated in clay oven cooking.
Following the recommendation of our landlord in villa general belgrano, we visited this hidden, little restaurant in the middle of nowhere. In the high season the place is open at night from wednesday to sunday and you need to make a reservation in advance otherwise you wont be served. Staff is very attentive and speaks basic english. The atmosphere has a great cottage style with an open view to the kitchen with its cooking fire. Altough the menu is limited, food is excellent with meat and vegetable dishes and a great variety of wines for fair prices. Having been to many restaurants in the whole country during the last years, I had the best steak in Argentina so far. The only downside are the bathroom facilities, which could be cleaner and need a refurbishment. Except that I highly recommend this place.

Restaurante especializado en pastas, comidas típicas , pescados, pollos, ensaladas, con variedad de entradas y postres
Really good restaurant not in the centre of Villa General Belgrano.
The food was excellent, particularly the pasta. We also had Kassler mit Sauerkraut, which was also excellent.
The service was really good, at lunch hosted by the owners.
We had a really good time eating there and we're definitely coming back and recommend in it.

We went to Tio Rico's on a recommendation. It was OK but no atmosphere. It is a buffet where you pay by weight. The place had no character and was almost canteen-style. The food was OK, but given the prices of sit-down-service in other places in town, this was not particularly good value. The buffet did have a reasonable range of hot and cold foods and of reasonable quality.

Excellent food, delicious flavors, best array of grilled vegetables, live-on-table prepared desserts, especially the one where they burn the rum in the apple pie, it's just amazing.
Lovely cozy decor, friendly staff, very social owner, what can I say, this place was recommended by my father-in-law and sure enough, it was beyond my expectations. I hope everyone has the same experience as mine. I read some negative reviews but honestly I really doubt this place could do anything wrong.

Great for a replenishing stop while in downtown. Dishes are not extraordinary but will not disappoint you. Wide menu and nice location add to the combo. Pizzas are brick oven made and sold in rectangles.

My girlfriend and me spent some days in "Villa General Belgrano" in March 2015. We booked "Hotel Blumig", because it had a wonderful location to all the restaurants and attractions in the main city. Well, it was the right decision !!!
Everyone recommended "Cafe Rissen" for the good cakes and the good chocolate, so we went on the next day to "Cafe Rissen". We went at lunch-time and we eat some real "german cakes". My girlfriend ate a very good "german gedeckter Apfelstrudel" and I ate a very good real "german "Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte" after a original "german recipe". WOOOW,..... I have to admit, the cakes were as good as the best cakes in a first class coffee-store in "Germany". So we were very happy !!!
We made the decision to come again to come to "Cafe Rissen", because I saw they had to offer a good variation of chocolate-drinks and I wanted to try them. On the following day we came again and I ordered a hot "chocolate-drink" with cream, with cognac and a piece of white chocolate. I was surprised, one of the best hot chocolate-drinks I drank in my life !!!
We came two times more to "Cafe Rissen", and I was drinking a chocolate-drink with cognac again. Of course. One day we came to dinner and we ordered both a very big caesar-salad. it was a good salad, but not first class, and I have to admit that the salads can't compare with the very good cakes, coffees, and chocolate-drinks. Another thing in "Cafe Rissen" is the fact that they have just one toilet for men and one toilet for women. When the place is full over the week-end, you have to stand in a row just to go to the toilet. Ridiculous. This is not the service such a very good coffee-store should offer its customers.
Another truth is, some of the servants, especially the black female servants, don't care very much about what they are doing. They brought us the wrong food two times, before a servant with some responsibility changed it to the food we ordered originally.
But "Cafe Rissen is a "must-go-place" in "Villa General Belgrano. Here are some other "must-go-places" in "Villa General Belgrano":
"Restaurant Ottilia" (the best restaurant in "Villa General Belgrano")
"Restaurant Quercus" (the best italian pasta in "Villa General Belgrano")
"Restaurant Marlene" (the most luxury restaurant in "Villa General Belgrano')
"Hotel Blumig" (A very good service, and perfect located to restaurants and attractions)
I hope my review was helpful and you are able to enjoy your vacation in the way you want to enjoy it. Thank you !!! EK

Gracias.

I wanted to try this place because of the positive reviews it has.
And indeed it is an out of this world arabic restaurant in the middle of Argentina. Up there with the best I have ever tasted in my life. Here is one case where price, quality and taste are extraordinary. Highly recommended and worth it every minute in there!
Parabens!!!

We came for dinner on a Wednesday. The decor is subdued and the high back chairs show class. The whole place is clean and the food is well presented. We had sirloin that we shared. This is one of the few restaurants in Argentina where they bother to heat the plates. The toilets were incredibly clean and they even had sanitised gel to clean your hands.
Clearly a gem for Villa General BELGRANO.
Hopefully we'll visit again soon..
