Typical Portuguese food restaurant, family style, with outdoor Seating with a great view over the river and ancient bridge.
We stopped here twice on our way to and from the Mountains for the Christmas holiday, and both meals (lunches) satisfied our entire group. On the advice of the Portuguese couple we traveled with, we ordered several traditional dishes that I'd not yet tried, including the caldeirada de cabrito (goat stew) and beef cheeks. If you have a smaller appetite, try the half portion, as the normal servings are enormous. All come with salads and other vegetables that were well cooked and seasoned. And there were a couple of vegetarian entrees, including a vegetarian rissois, for the veggie in our party. After carafes of the house white and red, we had to fend off sleep with a walk along the river that winds through town. Hearty, rich, and excellent value!

We had dinner here with a group of friends back in August. We had a lovely evening and a great meal. Service was terribly slow but the staff was friendly. In the end we did enjoy the food, it had good quality and the place was cosy and clean. I recommend it.

Far away from everything. We booked as it is list to be an Abrantes restaurant but it’s very far away from Abrantes. Small coffeeshop for locals downstairs and restaurant of the 1st floor. Food is well prepared and tasty but not spectacular. Reasonable wine offer. Service is great. Décor also very nice. 15€ per person. Overall the location kills it

Dined here twice for dinner during a four day visit to Serta. The food is unpretencious and delicious and we sampled some Portuguese wines and port (also delicious!)! Lovely panoramic views, friendly and efficient service. Great value for money. What's not to like? Will definitely return

Vila De Rei have a Festival Gastronmeio weekend celebrating Bacalha and Azeite.
Paraiso Do Zezere at Zaboeira are one of many local restaurants participating in the event.
We took a short drive from Vila de Rei, through winding Valleys covered in purple heathers and early spring flowers. The Terrace landscapes and white washed villages have a style and flair individual to the area, wild but with colourful and pretty touches to local homes.
As we drove down to the river, through a couple of narrow streets, the view was breath-taking. Mimosa trees in full yellow blossom reflected off the waters edge and gave off a rich scent mingling with pine.
Olive and orange trees also line the river, giving a lush feel to the valley.
Paraiso have 2 outdoor terraces and a large indoor area with panoramic windows.
We sat outside and appreciated total peace with only the birds singing and one speed boat heading up river,
Paraiso offered a full lunch menu or snacks. We decided on toasted sandwiches.
The bread was deliciously fresh and rustic. We had chips aswell!,they came piping hot.
Our light lunch was generous and tasty. It was very relaxing to unwind overlooking the river and valley.
We will definitely return, especially when the evenings are warmer, to watch the sun reflect on the river and disappear over the hills.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Overall ,Paraiso has one of the most attractive and chilled settings in the area.

Com uma excelente vista sobre a barragem de castelo de bom e um serviço que prima pela simpatia, o peixe de rio é excelente, com destaque para o achegã frito e para o lúcio grelhado. A açorda de ovas é também excelente.

Regretted my stay. From the moment I entered to the moment I started eating, 1h30 passed. They were seriously understaffed, and then still had the nerve to say that this was normal. Not recommended
