Vigevano is a town and comune in the province of Pavia, Lombardy in northern Italy. A historic art town, it is also renowned for shoemaking and is one of the main centres of Lomellina, a rice-growing agricultural district. Vigevano received the honorary title of city with a decree of Duke Francis II Sforza on 2 February 1532. It is famed for its beautiful Renaissance "Piazza Ducale" in the centre of the town.

Italian restaurant with typical food from Lombardia& Piemonte: fresh pasta, homemade ravioli, goose sausages, Slow Food products. Everything is served with special wines
Went for a quick lunch with colleagues and everyone tried something different. The sandwiches were unusual, a change from what you'd expect and all delicious. I opted for the tagliere di salumi d'oca, where I got a selection of goose sausage, goose ham, a delicate smoked breast and salame also a goose paté tat melted on your toungue with a wonderful aftertaste. Apparently the goose liver is baked with Marsala and you can taste it. Pity it was a working lunch so no wine, though I was sorely tempted.
We were served by the owner's mother, who seemed rather stiff, but once she saw my reaction to the patè and heard the sighs of happiness around the table, she melted...
Whenwe left, I saw they had some of their goose products for sale and bought some of the smoked breast, which they vacuum packed for me. Looking forward to astounding my guests on Christmas day. This little restaurant will certainly go down in my diary for when I return to Vigevano.

We came here for sunday lunch with the whole family, 3 adults and a baby. I have to say that everything here makes you feel in a starred environment, service, courtesy, old-ish silver cutlery, and most of all, the quality of the ingredients. I could bet that everything is extra fresh with respect of seasonality. What left me a little wondering was the taste of the dishes, I found some plate anonymous, with no real taste. I had the fish sampling but could not find any exceptional taste. As I always say, this is my humble opinion, I did not try many other things, and this cannot be considered a negative judgement for a starred chef. It's your go to try it :)

What an outstanding meal. This restaurant is situated in the historic square in the town of Vigevano and the area is very charming. When you enter the restaurant you will find a large assortment of fruits and other dishes. This particular evening we decided to have fish and we did not go wrong. We started with an appetizer dish octopus (polipo) very fresh and good and for our second dish we had spaghetti al scolgio - also very good. Our wine was a local white from the region and to top off our meal we had a dessert that was made of ricotta and pistachio, wow very good. Service was great and the restaurant atmosphere was bright and relaxing. Overall great experience.

Saturday lunch - the only table occupied until another couple arrived. An interesting menu, classic and unusual dishes with vegetarians thought of along with their carnivorous cousins! Stuffed vegetables, risotto with baccalà, cannelloni with pear and taleggio (?), goose leg with polenta. Service was friendly, the room attractive and comfortable - trattoria-like, lots of wood, interesting old signs and pictures. Good value for money too: 3 of us had 3 courses, 3 others 2 courses. A bottle of wine, 3 bottles water, 4 coffees. The bill was around 140 euro.
Only downside is that it's not in the centre - on the outskirts and seemingly part of a hotel complex. Need a car to get here but worth the effort.

When I was there in February, Bavette was not on the menu and it was suggested by the waitress. When I returned in April, it became part of the menu, which means it is toooo tasty not to try. It comes sprinkled with black salt flakes, and I chose the very tasty grilled vegetables as "contorno".
To accompany I took a red beer.
Above that, the waitress remembered me and exactly what I ate two months before !!!
I advise the guests to ask for the suggestions of the day that are not listed in the menu, and to book a place in the late evening as it gets full.

Open from Thursday to Sunday after 20.00. Reservations are recommended. In the comfortable setting of the room, the best the delicatessen counter of the store offers its customers, can be enjoyed combining it with the broad proposal of wines, beers and spirits. Every week a small selection of dishes prepared with raw materials of excellent quality choices favoring the territory and its DeCo, joins the established range of meats and cheeses, expanding the possibilities of exciting dining experiences.
This is a small (20 seat) restaurant tucked behind "Non Solo Pane" on Corso Torino #57. I have dined here several times in the last three years. Store and restaurant are family-owned and run. The owner Claudio Vighi keeps an excellent selection of wines and local cheeses and cold cuts. His wife, Nadia, cooks. They serve dinner four nights a week (Thurs, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in an intimate space behind the store. Menu consists of regional specialties and ingredients - always excellent and well prepared. Reservations required.

Great food in a lovely setting. Spotlessly clean. Beautifully decorated with "old things". Owner takes a personal interest in the guests. Very inventive but delicious food. The most beautiful (and delicious) fresh fruit dessert I have ever, ever seen! And, the owner, after listening to our preferences, recommended a wine that was CHEAPER than the one I had chosen. How unusual is THAT????? (and it was divine!)
