This locally well rated restaurant was quiet on the evening we visited and service was quick and efficient. Internally the decor is quirky and kitsch and with so few diners the atmosphere was flat.
The food from a fairly limited menu was, though, exciting and original. The renowned pasta flambé
prepared next to our table was an exercise in culinary theatre and the resulting dish was superb. Other dishes were less spectacular but of equally good quality. Another plate of gamberoni flambéd in rum was generous in quantity and very tasty. All in all it was a good experience and La Ficarigna well worth a visit.

Imagine a world class restaurant such as Bocuse in Lyon or Ducasse in Paris and you have Chef Ippazio's restaurant Lemi in the ancient town of Tricase in Italy's SE heel, Salento near Greece. Ippazio exploits the bounty of fresh and local seafood and vegetables to make magic. Worth a trip. Great regional wine list, too.

It all started March 3, 1970 when, in the historic center of Lucugnano, was opened Trattoria Iolanda, 3 Km from Tricase. A history tavern in Salento, managed by the family Giaccari that offers home cooking, typical of Puglia and Salento meat with homemade pasta, accompanied by a selection of wines from Puglia.
During our family holiday in Salento we visited the Trattoria Iolanda and we really liked it. It's a very solid typical local cuisine, with home made pasta, home made starters (olives, anchovies, fennels, peppers, etc.) and everything we tasted was delicious as in the kitchen our grandma would sit and cook for us. Being Italian, being there with the family grown up in that region, it's a compliment to say, it's like eating home at it's best with the traditional flavors of the Salento. Don't miss to try the home made wine :-) we will be there again!!!

We are non- Italians living in Italy (Salento).
On a recent visit to the charming city of Tricase to see the 800 year old oak tree, we decided to have lunch at "La Cistareddha"
On our entree we were greeted by Roberta, who made us immediately feel at home in this clean and comfortable place.
As there is obviously no need for a formal printed or written menue, Roberta explained that la cistareddha is their special form of "antipasti".
We decided to go for it and also ordered a jug of their excellent dry house rosato.
Then a train of cold and warm dishes started to arrive with Roberta telling us what each one consisted of.
There were mushrooms, eggplant, fresh vegetables, beans cheeses mussles and more, each one a compliment to Alessandro, the Chef.
The restaurant is family owned by Roberta and her 2 brothers who can rightly be proud of their successful establishment.
A "must" when visiting this part of Italy!

Overwhelmed by a food of starters/antipasti, from good to exellent, we jumped directly to the home made desserts. Nice location, if difficult to find, and extremely reasonable prices. My suggestion, visit after a couple of days of strict diet!

"Il Castello di Momo" is a tipical restaurant in the heart of Salento, an amazing experience to enjoy. Our restaurant is located in Capece family's baronial court (1400) where you can breathe the magic atmosphere of history. Our food is a mix of genuine apulian tastes and original flavours from around the globe. We are a family crew: Peppe is the manager and his father Franco is the chef. We've always had a passion for cooking because we think it means innovation and creativity. Our costumers is a second family and we like to delight them with our specialties and our welcoming manners. "Il Castello di Momo"is a place suspended in time: you just sit down, enjoy the colours and flavours of our dishes, drink a good glass of wine and dedicated to yourself a few hours of relax.
The restaurant is charming with a gorgeous outside dining area. The menu catered for fish and meat lovers and each course was celicious. The waiters were attentive which added to the experience. Very reasonably priced too. We travelled extensively throughout Puglia and felt this was by far one of the best. Thoroughly recommend.

Small and informal restaurant with mom and dad in the glass-walled kitchen and their two sons out front. The day's catch is presented at the table for your selection. The vegetables are grown on the family's farm nearby. Fantastic antipasto of numerous seafood (and other) dishes. We chose to have our main course fish prepared on pasta. It was excellent as was the inexpensive local wine. We ate so much that we had to come back another night for desert-mom's fig tart. By then we felt as if we were part of the family. It is great fun to watch your dinner being prepared.

The Bellavista is a family run restaurant where you can meet three generations. Hospitality and providing delicious local meals runs in their blood and as a guest you get the benefit of this on your plate.
The starters (antipasti) are out of this world and, to our greatest surprise, we did not only get 5-6 dishes, no, we were served 12 different ones, including various sea foods, vegetarian dishes and and vegetables.
The pastas and main courses are fantastic too. Real experts in preparing fresh fish.
I can only recommend to all travellers to go and have a meal at the Bellavista.
BUON APETITO!!!

During summer it is a very busy place. Better book a table.
After that, even if you have to wait for a table, it is worth it.
Friendly stuff, delicious pizzas . But El Paso is not only pizzas.
You can have a very good dinner with your friends or family and have a good laugh with the waiters.
Thinking about it, I have watery mouth! Go and TASTE by yourself.

A small restaurant on the corner of the main street of Tiggiano, a small town about 13km north of Leuca. The dining room is spacious and cool and perfectly in style for this part of the world. From the antipasti to the spaghetti with seafood, through to the main course and dessert, you could not ask for more. An excellent selection of local wines at bargain prices. The seafood is as fresh as it gets. Prices are more than reasonable considering the quality you are offered. The service is rapid and friendly and I can't wait to return.
