Suzhou is a major city on the lower Yangtze known for its canals, bridges, pagodas, and beautiful gardens. These gardens were built and owned by wealthy families and emperors hundreds of years ago, and make for a pleasant place to wander during nice weather. Suzhou is also a major center for silk production and manufacturing, and a tour of a silk factory here provides an interesting and educational glimpse of this Chinese textile industry. Suzhou is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Elegant, with modern style and appeal and a bird's-eye view of the city. Epicure on 45 is a revolving restaurant featuring Shanghai's finest a la carte selections and exciting show kitchens preparing delicious food from Europe, China, Japan and India.
Decent food, mainly for the view, ask for manager Joyce for recommendations.
Be sure remember where you table was close to when you leave for the toilet, you might come back and lost your scenes of direction.

Conceived by Paul Pairet for over 15 years and opened in May 2012, Ultraviolet is the first restaurant of its kind uniting food with multi-sensorial technologies in order to create a fully immersive dining experience. A single table of ten seats only. A dining room of high-end technology. A 20-course "Avant-Garde" set menu. All guests sit together. The experience unfolds as a play. Food leads. Each course is enhanced with its own taste-tailored atmosphere: lights, sounds, music, scents, projection, images and imagination... And food.
Visiting Ultraviolet, in Shanghai, is an unforgettable experience. Ultraviolet is not just a normal restaurant with good food, what they do and how they do it is well thought, mixing technology with tasteful recipes in a clever way makes this restaurant stand out. It has a secret location, that guests arrive in a van with the other 9 people being served. The dining room has screen walls, dry smell projectors, speakers, and screen projectors, which are all controlled in a control room. French chef, Paul Pairet’s idea and purpose and idea for this “is to unite food with multi-sensorial technologies to create an immersive dining experience,” (Fine Dining Lovers,) with a 20-course menu. The screens have animations projected that reflect the dish that is served, the odor of the room varies depending on the “theme” of the plate, and most of the time what the food looks like is not what it actually is “what looked like bread is actually lemon-flavoured meringue, the chocolate a foie gras praline.” The restaurant’s bizarre concept makes it unique and wonderful.

Tock's in an award-winning Montreal-style deli serving smoked meat sandwiches and all the fixings (including authentic poutine!). These specialties are all prepared in-house from the finest ingredients. A nice selection of beers and wines also. For lunch, brunch or dinner, a great choice for smoked meat comfort food! (Nice salads and vegetarian options too.)

You, like others who know Montreal-style smoked meat, recognize the quality and authenticity at Tock's -- in Shanghai!

Reinterpreting American dining The 1515 West, Chophouse & Bar combines the aesthetics of a movie set in Old Shanghai with the décor of a classic American bar and grill. The restaurant's generous portions of beef from cattle reared in Australia will delight meat lovers. The Tasting Bar offers oysters and other fresh seafood from around the world. A wine cellar featuring top new world red wine and a selection of white wine, champagne, vermouth and sherry ensures that Sommelier Jasper Sun stays busy. The New-York-style Classic Bar offers views of the piazza and the former home of Chairman Mao. It features a selection of classic and unique spirits. Here, cocktails are created personally by the bar manager and mixologist. Fresh bread, artisan cheese and cut-to-order charcuterie are available for takeaway.
The restaurant is on the 4th floor of the hotel and is large. It has an extensive wine list and the grill selection on the menu is great. Unfortunately, the downside was that the meat was either underdone or overcooked, both for myself and for my colleagues

私が注文したLuxurious dim sum platter(bird's nest dumpling, lobster dumpling with caviar, abalone seafood dumpling, har gau with foie gras)はそれぞれ2つずつ盛られており、味はまあまあだった。

Walked by and wondered, what is Bulgarian food?
So glad the friendly owner Ivan encouraged us to come in!
Starting with the cheese pita, it was astounding. The tomato and hot pepper sides were flavorful, not overpowering, just high quality.
We loved the stew, which came next, with its mushrooms, peppers, tender pork, spices and whatever other yumminess was in there.
The pork knuckle was huge and beautifully presented. Ivan came and removed the main bones, which came right out. It is very meaty. I liked the tender moist fatty pieces by the side and loved the fresh buttery mashed potatoes and delicious sour cabbage that came with the dish.
My husband and I shared everything, couldn't finish the knuckle meat and packed it to go.
Oh, and the house Bulgarian merlot was excellent!
Service was attentive and friendly.
Great date place.
Delighted to find this place!

Palatino Roman Cuisine offers you the culinary expertise of Franco Varesano, Rome 1964, with a great set of pizza and pasta, excellent meats and fish, premium cold cuts and an excellent and affordable wine selection. English/Italian/Chinese speaking staff supports a gentle and great value for money experience in Shanghai's downtown.
Upmarket restaurant.. Interestingly, the professionally trained Chinese waitress spoke fluent Italian, but no English, so it was fun communicating in Basic Italian and Chinese. Great to taste authentic slow cooked pasta sauce-authentic savoury flavours, and a big Italian wine list. Chose an Umbrian Syrah(shiraz) which...MoreThank you so much for your review. We have greatly appreciated your words and we hope to see you again soon. Best regards Palatino

TBoat (Sports Bar)Ideal for casual dining, TBoat is a fun get-together venue for friends and family, and especially for sports enthusiast to enjoy your favourite sporting events live. A good selection of specialty burgers, sandwiches, snacks and premium steaks are available, boosted with a wide selection of drinks to assuage your appetite.
Normally wouldn’t expect too much from a hotel restaurant (although the main Sunseeker restaurant in this hotel does have a very good daily buffet) but TBoat is missing something. It’s too ‘normal’ with nothing special to recommend it. The hotel location is very close to Xinghai Square which is the hub of Suzhou dining / nightlife, so there are many more interesting choices just a short walk away; Morton’s Grille on Xinghai Square was the best, and the nearby Camel Bar is good. The mammoth ‘Suzhou Center’ is also alongside the hotel (across from Xinghai Square) which has a lot of shopping and dining options, but it’s huge haha! Really liked the hotel and location but we went out for dinner and nightlife.

"Happiness of our customers is our top objective! We provide not only tasty and safe food with our innovative characteristics, but we want to be a restaurant that people can relax and enjoy live music, get to know Finnish culture." The owners, Zekro and Raija, have been living in Suzhou, China for 18 years. They are the representatives of the Suzhou Government and are happy to share their experience with the visitors who want to know where to go and what to see in Suzhou and China. Zekro is also a professional drummer. He has lots of African drums in the Cafe and visitors can learn drumming from him all free of charge. Also you can purchase high quality African drums (djembe) from him, if you get excited to continue learning drumming!
Zekro seems to be a warm hearted person and this place has quite some charm. Though I have to admit that I'm rather disappointed by the quality of the tea and food.
