Restaurant at Stryn Hotel in centre of Stryn. Restaurant and loungescapasity Strynehallen - banquetthall: 150 persons Restaurant Gulkoppen: 120 persons Dance restaurant: 270 persons Scala Dancing: 200 persons Lounges/bar/lobbybar: 150 persons
Unable to review we the quality of the restaurant as it was closed for renovations. When we made the booking we were not told that the restaurant was closed. Unfortunately, in Stryn there are only about 3 other cafés Which only sell fast food. Had to but from the supermarket and try and make our own. This was hard as there are no facilities in the hotel rooms.

Briksdalsbre Fjellstove has a cafeteria, restaurant and dining areas and can seat more than 550 people. It has a varied menu containing both hot and cold dishes that you can eat while enjoying the view of spectacular peaks and roaring glacial rivers. We arrange individual parties and lunch groups.
After viewing the glacier, stop in here for either lunch or a snack stop. (also have public toilets). There is an eating area on the main level as well as a large area downstairs for bus groups. We were with a bus group. Service was quick. Food was very good. Lovely setting.

The cafe was the only one open in he town at the time. 2 customers. But we found it hard to get any service. When we did the choices on the menu were limited, especially as my wife is a vegetarian. Foe many places in Norway, they don,t seem to acknowledge that vegetarians exist. We saw many cases of other travellers having the same problems trying to get a vegetarian meal. But in some places it was easier than others. See review about Stavanger Scandic Forus hotel.

We ordered two Salmon three pizzas 5 hot chocolate and a cappucino. The pizza was total dissapointmet I think its a frozen type the ready made ones. The Salmon was very normal the cappocino was very good the hot chocolate was excellent since we left Oslo I learened to make sandwiches and cook at home cause unlike Switzerland, Italy, and France you cant find good food everywhere but the country is so beautiful and the people are very nice

We took the Chicken pasta and the hamburger meny. Pasta was boiled to death, the chicken was not filet but kebab-chicken meatish, pretty disgusting and not fit for human consumption. The pizzas on the other hand looked pretty tasty. Hamburger meny also did not impress. So, if you go here it's probably better to pick one of the pizzas.

A delicately designed array of fresh and smoked or cured fishes, mussels, crabs and crayfish and a gorgeous reddish-orange side of home smoked wild salmon met my eyes as I walked in the door yesterday afternoon.
The mouth watering bouquet of home made fish courses which are in the hot trays made me change my immediate shopping plans. It was lunch time.
So, what to choose ? One may of course pay for a take away or simply slow down,, choose, perhaps some slices of smoked salmon, cured salmon, fish cakes (scrumptious), a brioche, a bottle of water. Sit yourself down at the tiny tables, or eat at the tables outside, which is what I and the locals do. Then, satisfied and still amazed at the relatively low prices for this very high standard of delicatesse food, I could do my shopping, i had a big cardboard box full of these scrumptious fish cakes, almost 1 kg of cold smoked salmon, a quarter kilo of hot smoked salmon, and a couple of bags of fresh mussels.A bag of ice underneath everything and an even larger bag of ice on top of it all kept my goodies cold all the way home to Geiranger. Fantastic service....

Located in Stryn, near the glaciers, Restaurant 34 is a nice and cosy restaurant that serves mostly homemade food, pizza, country and skillet breakfasts, pastas, traditional dinners, tapas, appetizers, wraps, etc., and they also have a children's menu catered particularly to kids under 13 years old. We are also a bar with nice atmosphere, open at the weekends until 2.30. You also can play shuffleboard, darts on-line and soon eight-ball
We stopped there on Friday, on our way for the weekend... And I just need to say that we came back on our way back home on Sunday. We tried the pizza, not much especial but tastefull, good size and good price. Also tried the...MoreHi Andrea. Thank you so much for your review. Hope to see you again soon.

The café offers a good selection of homemade food, and dining with all rights. We bake our own cakes and other local traditional baked goods . The cafe is a natural meeting place in the village, both summer and winter. Summer is high season and then we hold open every day until late at night. Wintertime is quieter, so then we close earlier in the afternoon and every Tuesday. Free wifi.
Supermarket attached. We had a small piece of unremarkable pastry with a beautiful view on a Terrace. We didn't plan to stop here but we saw the nice view.

Great food produced from local ingredients. The views is nothing less then spectacular. Baguettes/hot dogs available if you need something quick. Service was very slow, but I assume that this will pick up once the crew has settled (it's a brand new place). Clean bathrooms, wheelchair access and a very easy place to bring someone in a wheelchair. Lots of space. Barbecue and beer on tap at the Terrace. Recommended.
