Located on the main road, the Ahinsa was recommended by our driver. He was not mistaken. The restaurant has three floors and is to all intents and purposes a tree house. The menu was extensive and the portions plentiful. We elected to have the ubiquitous Rice & Curry. The food arrived quickly, was excellent and the portion sizes were very generous. If anything, there was probably too much rice. Alcohol is served along with the usual assortment of fresh fruit juices. The serving staff were friendly and attentive. Some reviews suggested that the staff tended to ignore customers. Our experience was that they let you eat and enjoy the meal but as soon as you looked up to get eye contact, they were there instantly to assist. The overall cost of the food and drink was very reasonable. We enjoyed the food so much, we went back on our second night.

Cool Cantina is a really cool place which opens to the magnificant scenery of Sigiriya Rock. Cool Cantina ready to offer comprehensive range of Sri Lankan,Western and Chinese food to suite your taste with a smiley hospitality. Enjoy a refreshing fruit punch or lite beverage with cocktails while listening to the lovely 70's music. The menu is starting from Rs.80.00 as your taste you can enjoy more.
We enjoyed our first dinner here so much that we went back the next night. This small cosy family restaurant is run by delightfully friendly Sri Lankans. They serve a good varied menu of Sri Lankan and European food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is very fresh and cooked to order and well presented too so do be patient if they're busy. No alcohol is served but there's a good selection of soft drinks and fresh juices. We'd highly recommend and would definitely return.

'Rasta'rant is one of the few places serving alcohol in Sigiriya. With romantic fairy-lit seats overlooking the creek, good music and friendly young staff, this place had everything you would want for a relaxed drink and cheap meal. The food was pretty good, but not amazing. I recommend the Sri Lankan BBQ. The 'secret' cocktail list is hilarious ;-)

We visited Sheyans for lunch after seeing all the great reviews. Unfortunately as it was outside of the busy season they didn't have many options available from the menu and ingredients seemed to be missing from what we ordered.
We had vegetable fried rice and vegetable crepe along with a coke and 'lassi' that was just shaken up milk as they had no fruit to add. This came to R1500 which is the most expensive street feed we've had after 3 weeks in Sri Lanka.
The owner was super friendly. Maybe the meals would be better inside season.

Ordered vegetarian biryani (asked before, if it vegetarian). Waited almost 30 minutes for it and then it came with egg and chicken. I told them I ordered vegetarian and the reaction of the waitress was just rude but after 2 minutes I got a vegetarian one. Weird, that it just took 2 min? No, they just removed the chicken and egg and gave me the same. Btw the taste was so disappointing. It was also cold and not fresh. They also wanted to have the same price of the meat biryani for the vegetarian biryani. I told them, that I won't pay the same price but then they told me, that I also used the wifi! What kind of reason is that? Btw it wasn't working well. Worst food and service wich I had in Sri Lanka.

Started with a ride on a cart drawn by a bullock, followed by a short canoe ride.
Welcomed to the village by a lady and her daughter who showed how they cook on an open fire and involved us in sifting rice from the chaff, extracting coconut from its shell and grinding coconut for a coconut sambal which was delicious.
Finally a tuk tuk ride back to our Taxi. Lovely, memorable experience. Highly recommended.

Stayed in Sigiria 2 nights recently. Came here the first night because of trip advisor and the second because the food was so good. Veg curry is ridiculous.value , rice ,Dahl and 4 vegetable dishes.Kothu also excellent as was the chicken curry.A small menu but that didn't matter as everything was excellent. 3 dishes, 2 beers and a soft drink for under 20 dollars Australian. One of the best value restaurants I have ever been to.

Perfect place to eat excellent food in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The food is typical Sri Lankan and fresh and tasty. The owner helps, supports and always try the best to accommodate his guests. Simply the place I want to be after a strengthening day. Prices are reasonable.
