We decided on this restaurant as we were struggling to find anywhere else open on a Tuesday evening. Although first in at 7pm there was a steady stream of locals eating in and for takeaways. The food was good, delivered to the table in good time and good value for money.

La Citronnelle is a vietnamese restaurant offering one of the best vietnamese cuisine in France in a buffet format (all presented entrees, main courses and desserts are at your discretion) every day from Monday to Friday at lunch time. All day take-away are available from Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 9.30 pm (closed between 3 pm and 5 pm).The restaurant is located close to Saint-Lo centre and to the Place Sainte-Croix next to the church of the same name with plenty of parking available. We were looking for somewhere to eat before getting to our gite and La Citronelle was one of the few restaurants open at the time in St Lo. Our French is not too good and we seem to have misunderstood that they usually only take bookings but they prepared a beautiful buffet for just the two of us. I just wish I had a larger appetite (not small anyway) as the selection of food and the tastes were sensational.
We had hoped to return but did not manage it - perhaps next time we stay in the area!

Whilst sightseeing Saint-Lo we searched hard for an authentic French restaurant for lunch. France, like the rest of the world is gradually falling victim to pizza parlours and kebab takeaways. We found Le Toucan on a corner next to the pedestrian precinct. It claimed to be a combination of genuine creperie and Irish bar. We were not put off by the juxtaposition of the two concepts and entered the premises. The restaurant is small and simply furnished, the kitchen is actually in the bar. There was one chef and one lady serving, we assumed that they were the owners. Different drinks, including various Irish whiskies were displayed round the bar area.
The menu had a good selection of galettes and crepes. We had delicious savoury galettes. These were well prepared and displayed on the plate, a pleasure to eat. We were first in when the restaurant opened and found the service to be fast and friendly. We did notice though that when the restaurant filled up, one or two tables were left waiting for a long time for service. perhaps Le Toucan could benefit from a part time waitress.
We thoroughly recommend this establishment for a light lunch.

Went there with French friends.
Warm welcome from staff. Attentive service. Wine list interesting and we drank some good wines. Escargots farci starter delicious. Main course - sea bass in particular - very, very nice. Deserts obviously home made and some were memorable.
Only comment: we had English expats next to us who were loud and ill mannered. This is a small restaurant and this did spoil our evening somewhat.

Visited with a group of friends for a get-together lunch. To make life easier for everyone, we had previously chosen our three courses from a limited selection, and everyone said they enjoyed what they had - me included. Not exactly cordon bleu, but very tasty and nicely presented. Would certainly go again.

Brasserie situee face aux remparts de Saint-Lo.Cadre chaleureux et intimiste. Sercice dynamique et a votre ecoute.Terrasse exterieure chauffee.Produits locaux frais suivant la livraison du jour et de saison.
What a wonderful place this is. We were a party of three for lunch and we all had the three course set menu at 18 Euros each. A delicious mushroom and sautéed shallot salad for starters and then a wonderful tender, delicious main of steamed Hake and crispy Salsify salad with the most tasty piece of beetroot I've ever had. Desert was a fabulous concoction of chocolate sponge, chocolate sauce, candied fruit and a meringue nest. What a treat! Service was fast and efficient. The place was full, deservedly so. One of the best meals I've had in France.

We knew the Chef of the Intuition already from his previous restaurant in Coutances, and knew before coming that we would not be disappointed. But we found an even better and more creative composition of the meal than before. Specifically, combination of ingredients like hazelnuts to accompany a mullet fish, rhubarb to come with the veal or the cheese course with entirely grated Tomme surprised and proofed to be excellent combinations. We will definitely return to taste more of Intuition!

We had a very pleasant dinner here. Service was very friendly and efficient. The crépes - both salty and sweet - were delicious and in an excellent portion size. Had a four cheeses first and then a pure Nutella for dessert. We also tried a local fa cider, which was delicious! Very recommended.

This is a little tea room near the Notre Dame church on the ramparts in Saint Lo. It has a pleasant little patio garden behind the shop.
Service was friendly and the cakes/tarts were tasty and well made.
It was busy on the Friday afternoon that we were there,

Two of us had lunch here. The sushi was fresh and tasty. The service was good. The restaurant is small and charming.
