We were disappointed that our hotel restaurant was closed on Sunday evening, so came here instead.
It was busy on arrival and we hadn't made a reservation, but we were offered a table.
The menu offered German favourites and the wine-list local choices, mainly Reisling white and Spätburgunder red, both fine.
When our dishes were served, they were attractive, well cooked and delicious.
Happy to return and would recommend making a reservation.

While enjoying a Viking River Cruise we decided to take the opportunity to dine off the ship while docked in Rudesheim and we're glad we did. Stadt Frankfurt was recommended and we loved it. The restaurant is tucked back on the lovely streets of Rudesheim. The food was hearty and very good. I opted for the Pork Schnitzel with pepper corn gravy and it was simply awesome. The salads were ample in size and very fresh. We sat outside under a lighted patio, out of the evening rain. Inside, the restaurant was bustling and active with authentic German decoration, tables full of very content and raucous diners. A very memorable dining experience indeed.

We walked in off the street in this cold late October afternoon without Reservations.
We were greeted by a joyful waitress who directed us to a cozy corner by the window on thestreet. The decor is decidly old german country.
The place was almost empty and it took a little while before we were served.
The water and beer came quickly. The soup followed shortly : pumpkin creme, very good and pleasing on this cold afternoon.
The main courses of pork chops (good) and the fried calf liver (very good) were slow to arrive as the place filled up.
Then we ordered the cherry brandy coffee and it came in a hurry. The little ceremony of lighting the brandy before adding the coffee and whipped cream is nice and tasty.
All this for 75us$.
We would definitely go again.

We visited early on a Monday night so we had the whole place to ourselves.
They had both indoor and outdoor Seating, we chose outdoor which was very pleasant.
For four people, we ordered four entrées. In hindsight, we should have only ordered three because the servings were quite large.
The food was rich and tasty. Out of our options we felt the pizza calzone was the best although all the selections were good.
They had both Bitburger and Maisel Weisse Hefe on tap.
We would highly recommend the restaurant as a great value although leave yourself some time to digest your food.
Service was good and relaxed. They accepted American Express as payment.

Excellent authentic German food. My husband had Schweinehaxe with Kartoffel Kloessen with beer. I had a chicken breast dinner salad. Both were excellent. We had French onion soup for a starter. I finished with apple strudel and a cappuccino. Highly recommend looking for this restaurant which is a few streets off the Drosselgasse street. Service good and food came quickly. Excellent place.

We held an office get-together here and the event was perfect. Before even entering the restaurant the whole setting was worth having your camera out. Surrounded by vineyards, on a hillside overlooking Rudesheim (when we left, the Niederwalddenkmal was all lit up down the valley in full view), not to mention the building was full of antiques and Fountains out front. Once inside, I didn't see a bad Seating area. Out straight through the back of the restaurant though was an outside Seating area overlooking the Rhine Valley which would've been nice, but it was a little cold. They had English menus. I had the sweet Riesling of theirs and it was excellent. I had the pepper schnitzel and it was good, but the rump steak my wife had was admittedly even better. The service was good also. We'll be coming back when it's warmer and the wife's parents are back in town...

We go to Eis Cafe Engel to try their Rudesheim Coffee. They are located on Drosselgasse. Our waitress Eva prepares the Rudesheim Coffee it table-side. You start out with 3 sugar cubes. Then, you add warm Asbauch, a local Germany brandy. Eva lights up the brandy, stirs it until the flames go out. She adds the coffee, and then the whipped cream is placed on top! My husband gets the iced version, which has ice cream. My daughter gets gelato and we also get the Marzipan Torte, which is delicious. Total is €26.30 not including tip.

We ate here last Saturday and had excellent meals , its a popular place on a weekend but also a large place to accommodate and it didn't detract from the service. what I really liked about the place is that it is slightly tucked away from the very busy centre so not rowdy and is also popular with locals so must be good.

The food here is very good and reasonably priced. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Their own wines are excellent. We have been here twice already and will certainly go again.

Had dinner in this restaurant and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Service was very friendly and helpful. Our meals included a small delicious salads. Portions were generous. Wine is great. The restaurant has quite a number of tables but it is organised in a such way that it is not noisy.
