I don't remember how many times I've been to this restaurant with or without my kids, always found it crowded with teenagers, very economic, green and nice location. Food is equally good particularly veg rolls and egg rolls for eggetarian, Chole Bhature, South Indian and a la carte. Quick service makes waiting time lesser.

Madhuban caters well to the taste palates of young and old in Rourkela for the last many years. The location is good near the main residential and educational institutes of the steel city, also close to the civilian residential area Koela Nagar and Shakti Nagar. No hassles in parking you car near the restaurant. Many families and teenagers throng here in the evening for snacks or dinner, which are served both indoors in AC environment and outdoors. However, being a budget place with enthusiastic diners you may find the place very crowded, noisy with bright lights all around.
The food served is both Indian and Chinese, the Indian fare being a bit oily and spicy. The quantity served will leave you full. Dosa and Chhole Bhature are the favourite items of the joint.
Madhuban promises a good family outing after a hard day's work, unless the crowd and the noise get on to your nerves.

11 June, 2016.
I was on an official trip to Rourkela. My hosts took me to
The Standard, one of the main restaurants close to NIT Rourkela.
We had gone there for lunch. We were first served a spicy but
tasty Chicken Manchurian soup. This was followed by French Fries,
and a large fried papad. Deep-fried fish (rohu) came in next. There
was a spicy chicken gravy preparation, and another with paneer.
There was a mixed vegetable dry preparation as well, along with
some dal. there was rice and tandoori roti to go with it. The
dessert was some nice butter-scotch ice cream. We washed it all
down with some fresh lime soda. the place is spic-and-span, and
the service, courteous, and timely. The manager himself makes
many rounds of the place, with suggestions, and asking if patrons
needed something else. Overall, a wonderful experience.

This sweet shop operating for the last one and half decades at a very advantageous location in Rourkela is quite popular, mainly because of lack of quality competition shops in the city. Going by the brisk sale and long standing the place should have grown in size and quality over the years, which it has not.
To my view the reason behind this is the lackadaisical attitude of the owner towards customer service. In this matter quality is tossed to the wayside. Just because the products sell, doesn't mean that hygiene and quality of service should be banished.
My recent experience will make it clear what I am trying to say. I found a couple of small cockroaches scurrying on the sweets inside the show case. I also found a strand of hair on a sweetmeat on display. Thirdly the waiters were using their bare hands to scoop out and pack the sweets. When I protested to the owner I found no urgency in his response. It was just matter-of-fact incident for him.
Despite the above the place remains one of the favorite haunts for the customers with a craving for North India type sweets and snacks.

Dosa Plaza is a good place to spend a cozy evening with family or friends, sitting near the far-end glass window overlooking the traffic below. It is in the first floor in a new commercial building, just beside a small kid's amusement outfit. That's more reason why it should have been more crowded than the way I found it on a Friday evening last week. With rows upon rows of comfy seats, 104 types of Dosas in the menu besides all kinds of variations like Chinese, Mexican, and reasonable prices, the place looked mysteriously bare. Probably its a new place which has not got enough publicity.
Noodles and sizzlers besides all kinds of Indian snacks and meals are served here, as per the menu and the waiter's conversation. Service is prompt and pleasing.
A section of the restaurant is carved out for kid's birthday party on prior booking. The place is in Uditnagar and very close to Civil Township area.

The restaurant is a locally owned and operated restaurant providing friendly and courteous atmosphere , along with our delicious and freshly prepared cuisine in a modern greenery setting . Family owned and operated we are renowned for our authentic cuisine and unparalleled service.
I loved the family friendly ambiance of the place. The staff were very polite and nice and the food was delicious. We had the fish curry with rice. Although the food tasted freshly prepared, service took about 20 minutes. Once we tasted the food, we had no complaints.
Aangan is an alluring open air courtyard restaurant that serves some of the most elaborate buffets with the dishes spread across a wide array of cuisines. The multi-cuisine restaurant serves everything from flavourful soups to exotic prawn dishes to more homely but very delicious fish curries. Dine under the stars in style!
