The number of positive, overwhelmed reviews here speak for themselves. This is just to confirm it's still the case. Only thing to add would be the really good rooms and the fine little breakfast. In accordance to the overall concept, they serve home made jams and bread in real Italian style. It's simply a 360° outstanding experience!

If you have ever been tempted by “slow food”, gourmet cuisine based on fresh local and non-industrial ingredients, you must pay a visit to the restaurant “La Macina” . Housed in San Marco D’ Alunzio, a small village with an amazing 3000-year history, this family restaurant is located in an ancient oil mill restored about 10 years ago which retains many ancient elements testifying its origins. Everything you’ll taste is local, home-made or grown in the owner’s Gardens and local farms. From olive oil, to bread, from locally-raised beef, chicken or pork to all sort of fruits and vegetables ... not to forget grappa, limoncello and other local spirits. The rich list of wines includes some of the best Sicilian and Italian wines. The ambition of the owners is to preserve and promote local and traditional food products which in this valley are considered as part of the cultural heritage along with the 22 churches, 3 museums and its numerous archaeological sites.
Stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant by chance and enjoyed a superb lunch - all homemade traditional treats served with passion and pride. There is no menu but every dish was delicious. The owner sat with us for much of the time and, despite the lack of a common language, we managed to chat while waiting for the next dish to arrive. What a find, in a quiet hilltop village!

Open every days. Day off Sunday
It's the second time that I've got the chance to visit this little restaurant that does local cuisine with a very interesting modern twist.
The food is superb. The service is kind, efficient and engaging. The desserts are heaven. The wine list very interesting.
I will surely be back to try more of their specialities!

Very beautiful location and view ... but the food!!!!! To die for. Amazing homemade pastas and flavorful sauces. The meat and pizza are also mouth watering. It's out of the way so no tourists really (My grandparents live here) but absolutely worth the trip.

The scenario is the old medieval town of Ficarra , the historical part , rich in churches , palaces , portals , cobbled often hidden in a maze of narrow and charming streets passable only on foot . And right in the heart of the country there is the restaurant of the Badia Nuccio and Roberto with a menu of dishes suggested by the most authentic and genuine Sicilian cuisine and nebroidea , prepared with the knowledge and mastery of one and accompanied by a wine list that includes fine and prestigious labels . The kitchen is presented to attach particular importance to the sophistication and elegance of the dishes , in a riot of flavors and fragrances designed to satisfy even the most discerning palate .
Graduation party. Place appears nice, even if not easy to reach. About food, we had dinner...nothing special. For my part, I was expecting better. Staff is very willing and nice, but maybe a little bit superficial. Neither a disastrous restaurant, nor a heavenly one.

Our restaurant is surrounded by the nature near a nice village called Castelmola , 3km from Taormina, with a Terrace and a breathtaking view. It is also possible to hire two double rooms to stay overnight. The owner and chef Alfina wants to provide the Sicilian kitchen, beginning with typical recipes using only seasonal products, over to the passion for cooking. The fresh pasta is a product of our kitchen. We buy the vegetables from local farmers. From May on we begin with a menu based on local fish. We do our best to offer you a lunch/dinner with selected ingredients cooked freshly by our chef and owner Alfina.
As hard as it is to get here, that's how much it is to come here. The food is authentic, not expensive enough and out of this world. The service is fantastic, the portions generous with a real Sicilian atmosphere.Thank you so much See you soon

The food and service at this small restaurant is absolutely amazing. Our waitress was very friendly and helped us to translate the menu into English. For starters we had the swordfish "Arancini" and swordfish pasta which were both amazing, the best food we have eaten in Sicily! Mains we had pork and tuna (and a side of potatoes...not on the menu but worth ordering!) again both delicious! Dessert tiramisu and apple pie...a perfect ending!
Thank you again we had a great time here!

Ristorante di cucina tipica siciliana carne e pesce
We came here for lunch, attracted by a large group of diners tucking in with gusto. We had a light lunch; two pasta dishes and a shared dessert. The food was fresh, perfectly prepared and presented, and very tasty. The wine, served by the glass, was a dry Etna white and was crisp and delicious. Service was attentive and amicable. The Sicilian cheese dish was good although similar in texture and well accompanied by dessert wine. All in all we strongly recommend this restaurant

This restaurant is well worth visiting. Its position on the Tripadvisor map is not correct. The restruant is down a long windy road that can be found on a bend in the SS185 just after the junction with the SS7 having left Gaggi.
The restruant in the middle of nowhere surrounded by farms and fields. It was suprising large and was very professional. The staff were very welcoming and spoke good English. The menu contained many local dishes including home made maccoroni and a good selection of grilled meats.
We shared a first course pasta and then had grilled lamb and grilled horse. Both of the meat dishes were served with a salad. All of the food was well presented and very tasty.
I would recomend this restruant, you just have to take the trouble to find it.
