ASK Italian in Castleford is a place for great food and warm service. Think fresh bread made to tear and share. A glass of fine wine worth deserving of your time. Delicious main dishes prepared the traditional way. Everything we know and love about Italian food is served straight to your table. Take a look at our Castleford menu and, if you like what you see, book a table.
Service was appalling. What was supposed to be a quick dinner with family turned into over 3 hours. By the time our food arrived we’d forgotten what we ordered. Our meals arrived at different times meaning some of us finished before other dishes had arrived otherwise would have all gone cold. Food average at best. Very disappointed as had to keep chasing and asking for service. Don’t understand really as the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. Avoid if you’re in a rush.

We came as a group of 6 spanning 3 generations.
This family run restaurant were welcoming from the start. They drink and food choices were amazing. They even shelled my prawns for me on the king prawn starter (which was amazing)!
Would highly recommend the steak tagliatelle. It’s a cliche to suggest pizza but they do them so well!
We had a lovely evening - just what we all needed.
My only criticism if I had to put one was that it was a tad chilly in there - so wear a jumper! But the warmth of the staff made up for it.

All the old favourites, plus the mid-week specials, and cool new stuff.
Best fish curries you'll ever get this far away from the sea, plus local venison. Amrtisari murgh to die for.
Staff are great... Don't be shy ... if you want something spiced up/down, just ask.
Best eats in the area.

Had a nice afternoon tea in the King Henry VIII bar and brasserie.
It was lovely mini cakes were amazing the scones were a little bit boring we find that other places have a selection of variety (Date and Walnut, Plain, Fruit etc) and their wasn’t enough sandwiches.
However what we had was lovely and you can add a glass of Prosecco which was lovely not sure of the brand they use but I must say one of the best tasting glasses of Prosecco I have had light and fruity and chilled very good.
All in all a 4 our of 5 because of the bits missing mentioned above.

We took my wifes parents and my Mum out for dinner at the Brown Cow. There was a huge menu on the board but a more limited one for Sunday lunch, buit still plenty of choice. We had a Turkey roast, beef roast, gammon roast and mushroom roast, all with huge yokshire puddings, veg and gravy. My Mum had prawn cocktail and soup. Excellent price, loads of meat (and mushroom) piping hot and a good bottle of house red to wash it down. Normally I dont like Yorkshire puddings, but these were cooked very well (some might say on the edge of burnt, but they tasted great) and I couldnt get enough of them. Friendly staff, excellent Sunday lunch.

We are a small, friendly, American diner style cafe serving delicious homemade dishes. Our quiches and paninis are renowned in the area as are our fabulous cakes and pastries, all handmade by French owner, Richard. Snacks include bacon and/or sausage sandwiches, fruit teacakes and a fabulous selection of homemade fruit or cheese scones. Our special blend of coffee brings customers from miles around and receives daily compliments from all nationalities. Fancy a cold drink? Why not try our frappes or healthy yet delicious smoothies, the ever popular thick shake (huge choice of flavours - all colour and additive-free) or one of our chocolate bar shakes. All available to take-out also.
This place is a bit off the beaten track, down a side ginel, but it's worth it. Decent tea and coffee and breakfast items in a nice setting.

Visiting family in Castleford, we went for lunch at Farmer Copley’s. A cheery welcome invited us into a well laid out restaurant where there is an extensive menu to suit all tastes.
The food was quickly prepared, and very soon arrived at the table. The children were provided with activities while we had waited, and couldn’t wait to tuck into their lunch..... the children’s Yorkshire pudding with veg and gravy was a great hit!! The adults tucked into generous helpings of burgers, hog roast Sandwich and sausage and mash, all of which were delicious! . The bill, with drinks, for four adults and two children was £50, and none of us had room to eat anything for Sunday tea!! Superb!
