Castell-Platja d'Aro is a municipality in the middle of the Costa Brava in Catalonia, Spain. It is formed from two parts: Castell d'Aro is an ancient village built around a medieval castle and a fortified church, 3 km inland on the road from Platja d'Aro to Santa Cristina d'Aro; and Platja d'Aro is a coastal town on the road from Palamós to Sant Feliu de Guíxols which stretches along a large 2 km beach. Originally a small fishing village, Platja d'Aro is now a major coastal resort, popular predominantly with Catalans and villa-owning Northern Europeans.

We arrived late but were welcomed with a smile and warm welcome. Food was wonderful and waiters truly cared for our experience. Delicious spanish food with lots and lots of sea-food. Great house wine, cozy setting and attentive service. Sadly they did not speak any English but we got along just well without any misunderstandings. Value for quality - top.
I can definitely recommend this place.

This was the best restaurant we visited while staying in Plat ja d'aro. The service was extremely quick, even on a busy Saturday evening. We ordered a pizza and a pasta and both were delicious!! Would recommend for couples wanting a nicer meal without high cost.

Having spent time at the fun fair with 3 year old grandaughter, Feliu was just across the road and the obvious choice for dinner for four of us. Even at 7.30 on a Monday it was busy and within an hour it was full. Restaurants in this part of Spain serve minimal vegetables with main courses so we ordered grilled vegetables from the Starter section to be served with the mains. This was a great idea.
We have been here in past years and are never disappointed with the food and value. It is very child-friendly the owner keeps a watchful eye on all proceedings.
Another successful visit and we'll be back.

Nicely located restaurant and good quality food. Restaurant is run by Dutch people and especially in the high season the place is stuffed with Dutchies so if you are looking for a local experience, this is not recommended. Friendly staff and Dutch speaking.

My wife and I enjoyed a lot having dinner here.
We had a selection of small dishes to share (I'wouldn't call them "tapas", maybe "raciones" fits better). Quality price very high all along. We were very impressed by a couple of then. Lots of talent mixing ingredients shows. The creativity of the chef can compete at a vey high level. The restaurant is nice, but humble and at this price level you just can't expect top quality of very expensive things you are just not paying enough for. I hope they keep on succeeding and can afford to offer a higher priced tasting menu in which they can show off all they are capable of. Service was really nice. Not always quick, but very skillful treatment.

We had to position La Tagliatella-Platja d’Aro somewhere truly historical and that’s exactly what we’ve done. This privileged area of the Costa Brava is where a veritable mosaic of historical periods and events has coalesced to form one of the most beautiful regions in Girona province. Lapped by the sea, there are megalithic monuments dating back to our prehistoric ancestors, ancient Roman remains, mediaeval Castles, museums… all making up a full day of tourism that has to finish up somewhere, and what better place than one with the Mediterranean sea as a backdrop.
Went here three times. Everything about the place is good, especially the staff. They gladly allowed us to share courses so that we could sample a greater range of food. Some unusual but delightful dishes, excellently cooked. Superb Deserts, great atmosphere and you have a good evening. We couldn't find any fault and highly recommend.

Restaurant La Calma is located in Platja d'Aro's maritime waterfront Promenade, with an open-air dining Terrace protected by the cold wind, and a chill out area with beachfront views to enjoy cocktails, tapas, full breakfast, in a very relax ambience.
Everything was very good. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Plus the view is great! Highly recommended

The restaurant is located on the premises of the Club de Golf d'Aro Mas Nou, family atmosphere, the menu is traditional Catalan and Spanish with a great selection of wines and spirits.
Following a morning round of golf, we ate here at Forat 19. Great choice of dishes, all freshly cooked washed down with some fine Rioja...very pleasant.

We felt we had to try this restaurant after Reading the reviews and having some other pretty bad experiences food- wise in this trip. We braved hailstones, flash flooding and lightening on the six minute walk to get to the restaurant from our hotel and I am so incredibly glad that we did. It was the perfect end to our trip.
We had the macaroni bolognese to start, which was perfect between two. It was beautiful and just the right portion size. The real treat came with the mains - we had the salmon on wok veg and the fillet steak. Both were cooked to perfection and were excellent cuts of meat. I usually don't like steak that's still pink but this wasn't at all chewy and made my mouth water!!
We had chips to share with mayo and ketchup.
All of this plus two soft drinks each for 61 euros - by far the best value for money meal I've paid for on this holiday!!

Situated at the 'empordanesa' locality of Platja d'Aro, at Sushidaro you can enjoy all the Japanese pleasures in a Mediterranean, modern and fresh restaurant. Immerse yourself in the healthy oriental cuisine at the calm of our Terrace. Distinguished production of dishes of this ancient tradition made of local products to savour new sensations. We also have an available service to 'take away' so, you can enjoy at home our tasty dishes.
We needed two attempts to get a free table. This restaurant is the new star in town.
The staff is friendly and the food is good but they might have some more variety in fish (had salmon, tuna, king prawn, octopus and surimi - white fish was out). Nevertheless we can recommend it to others.
