We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel and we weren't dissapointed! We tried the famous tavche gravche beans which were very tasty as well as other Macedonian classics. The staff were friendly and efficient. A special touch was the live music which really added to the experience of Macedonian dining! Finally the food was very affordable which is always a huge bonus!

Belvedere is popular restaurant situated in a very center of Ohrid, 20 meters from lake shore and 50 meters from the harbor. Is distinguished with a unique warm ambiance, detailed with antiques and instruments. You can taste both traditional and international cuisine accompanied with good Macedonian wines and live acoustic music every night in high season.
Had dinner there as part of a package tour since it belongs to the same company that runs a hotel and another restaurant in the area where our group were guests. The famished group was whisked straight to the rear dining area which is choc-a-bloc with antiques of all sorts. This type of decoration is to be found in all the aforementioned establishments and makes for interesting viewing.
I noticed that diners in the main area were treated to a Macedonian folk dance floor show but we got a very talented but very loud Gypsy band that was really not conducive to relaxed dining. After wolfing down the mixed salads that were already placed on the table, we were offered a choice of grilled pork or beef burger. The consensus was that the pork was a choice lean cut that was done injustice by overcooking. Such a shame. The beef patty appeared to be embellished with Gouda cheese that oozed from the surface like little yellow beads. Perhaps a tad high in fat and salt, it was well executed and grilled so it was juicy and delicious. The accompanying chips had a hand-cut look and were fried in fresh oil to perfection. Service was efficient and helpful.
The negatives: I don't know about the price of the meal because that was part of the package, but I felt that 2 euros for a small local Skopska beer (330 ml) was on the expensive side. My major peeve was the smoke that rolled into the dining area both from the grill and the front area that was a mixture of bbq and cigarette smoke that infiltrated clothes and lungs. The first type of smoke is OK in my book but it seems that the management has a smoker-tolerant policy. Not OK in my book.

We were told the coffee (cafe latte & macchiato) here was excellent and they were right. It was a quiet day and we got a seat on the edge of the water. Beautiful sunny day with the swans swimming by created a lovely atmosphere. We were served and yet once served the waitress did not return to see if we wanted more or anything else. Although we were not rushing we did find ourselves going up to the bar to pay the bill. It didn't take away from the experience although would have enhanced the experience of she was more attentive.

Above the spot everything here is a cover version of cooking with poor results. Cheese, vegetables and chicken was something that a beginner in the kitchen can produce - just to feed you up. Staff is unprofessional, unavailable and our unwashed. Poor experience in beatiful Ohrid. Better miss

Located on the waterfront next to the equally excellent Kaneo restaurant, this establishment serves some nice simple food in a wonderful setting.
Recommended are the plasica - small fish that are deep fried ( a bit like larger whitebait) - wonderful.
In the two nights we came here, we spent 1320 MKD and 1210 MKD respectively for starters, mains and drinks - very reasonable from a UK perspective.
Easily found. Take lane behind Sv Sofia church towards the lake and walk west along a boardwalk on the lake and you will then come to it after a few hundred metres.

This bar is quite a walk from the centre of Ohrid - maybe 20-25 minutes along the seafront. It is well worth the effort and we ended up there a few times. (This is also where the paragliders leave from)
The cocktails are outstanding. They are not the cheapest but in my opinion are the best. They have everything you can think of including house specials. The food is also good and the portion sizes are very generous.
There is a pier with sunbeds and you can actually be served your cocktails whilst relaxing here. In summer bring a swimming costume because the steps off the pier lead into the lake allowing you to relax and swim.
Staff are nice and were happy to organise a complementary cake complete with firework candle for my husband's birthday,
Loved it. We will return.

Villa Saint Sofija has two dining rooms, with a total capacity of 80 people, which are ideal for a fine retreat enjoying the elegant and romantic spirit of this beautiful place and a spacious summer Terrace on the lakeside with free sun chairs and sun umbrellas for all of our guests. Bringing to life both the traditional, elegant epoch of Macedonia's past and the dynamic rise of the new era our restaurants can provide you with an enjoyable sophisticated evening. We offer an extensive menu of authentic Macedonian cuisine prepared into traditional dishes and served in traditional clay pots alongside with the new and modern 21st century cuisine. Our restaurant is available for organizing various celebrations for larger groups as well as organized meals for tourist groups with pre-defined menus.
The restaurant is set in a beautiful building and is, as photos reflect, decorated in a classical style. It's cozy enough to make us feel that we were in for a private dining experience, and we enjoyed looking at St Sophia from the window while waiting for the meal.
I've had to deduct stars from our score, however, because of two reasons: pretty much everything we'd originally chosen was "unavailable", and when it did arrive, the salad was rather bland, and my boyfriend's pork dish was underdone (so the meat as very hard and chewy). The people next to us had similar problems.
My trout was delicious, however, and the waitress was very polite and helpful - I just felt bad that we had to say something to her about the food.
All in all, I'd not let this one experience deter a second visit, as from the reviews here it seems clear that the villa restaurant is normally fabulous!

It is really me of the expensive restaurants in Ochrid city preliminary because of its location: right by the sea and not far from Kaneo church, so the view is worth a visit.
The menu provides selection of traditional Macedonian dishes, the plate of starters is very nice.
I ordered fish and it tasted OK, but although it was supposed to be served with spinach, it wasn’t there. After my question it turned out, that they are out of spinach, nevertheless nobody cared enough to tell me that beforehand or suggest any replacement. For the level they are trying to represent it is an unusual behavior.

Traditional Macedonian house style ( hose is 450 year old ) set on two floors and it has outside balcony with beautiful view on Ohrid , antic theater , church of Holly mother of good "Perivleptos and mountain of Galichica . It has outside Seating on the street as well
The restaurant offers good food and notably the single table overlooks exactly the Roman theater. For lunch time is quite full, but for dinner chances are that you'll be one of the few guests. Definitely worth going. Prices, however, are somewhat in the higher category similar as the sea-front restaurants.

Had a lovely dinner with my wife. The place was clean and has a beautiful view over the lake. It had the standard bolkan mains and salads.
