Love the food/ wine in this place. Michelin star quality. Love the scallop dish, and the suckling pig. Don’t order kid’s menu for your kids. I am sure they will enjoy the regular dishes a lot more and the price is very reasonable.

The "filetes de polvo com arroz de polvo" (fried octopus with octopus rice) was excellent, the roasted goat not so much. We ordered in advance but arrived late due to road N222 being temporarily closed for a sports event. Both staff members (I think one of them was the owner) were extremely accommodating and the service was super fast, as we had Reservations for the historic stream trains that was leaving in 1 hour. Another plus, this place has a private parking area.
I would go back anytime.

Found our way here after a referral from a local wine shop. So glad we did. Traditional cuisine with an extensive menu hand written in English. Lots of courses, our main was lamb, cooked perfectly. Paired with a good local red wine.. Service was attentive and fun, as they helped us through ordering in Portugese.

We were staying for three nights in the Fontelas village above Peso da Regua, so we wanted a restaurant convenient to the hotel the first night when we arrived at about 10 pm. The view of course was absent then--it was after nightfall, but we enjoyed classic homestyle Portuguese dishes at a reasonable price. We decided to come back the next night--again, the service was excellent, the food ample and homey. This time we were wowed by the view, too. Make no mistake--this is not a nouvelle cuisine gourmet place. This is the kind of food a Portuguese grandmother might fix for you. But the view and the service and the traditional country cuisine make this restaurant a find.

Great restaurant with indoor Seating and a nice patio for Seating too. Servings are very plentiful and really flavorful! Everything, from the olives and bread to salads to main dishes to dessert, was delicious. And the price is moderate. Highly recommended!

Food was excellent as was the price. We started with vegetable soup. We shared a main course of beef rib, which was flavored perfectly. Our meal came with French fries and salad. This restaurant is right in the center of town on the river.

All the meals at Limonete are supersized. My husband and I both ordered the pizza and realised when they arrived that we should have shared one. We are both decent eaters but we barely started the second. Whilst not as thin and crispy as i prefer the pizzas come with lots of topping, are very tasty and excellent value for money. The desserts which i guess they buy in from a bakery looked fab too but sadly we had no room.
This is a very popular place with families and locals so bustling, noisy and almost continually full so you may have a short wait but tables turover regularly.

We visited Regua as English Tourists, by train from our hotel. We were looking for somewhere to eat at Lunch Time and passed by this obviously popular local restaurant ...if it is good enough to be filled up with local people, that must be good & it was ! We asked for the menu, but straight away, the waiter said there was no menu, but just 4 set courses & he told us what we could chose from. I chose 'Chicken, Salad & Chips' and my husband chose Fishcakes etc . Both our meals were well cooked and very tasty . For both our meals , plus 2 small beers & 2 large glasses of 'Green White Wine' , we paid just 16 Euros ! WOW !

We have dinner there and the food exceeded our expectations. The portions were big and the food very tasty, doing justice to the best Portuguese cuisine.
The river views are excellent and the sunset was amazing.
So, great views, great food and a good wine filled menu at a reasonable price.
The staff sympathy must be improved ... smiling doesn't cost a penny!
You can reach the restaurant walking from the city through the old bridge, now converted into pedestrian bridge.

This restaurant was fantastic. Delicious food, attentive service and only 8 tables. The best value for money we experienced in 2 weeks in Portugal. Don't expect snappy service but enjoy a wonderful experience. Essential to book ahead.
