Pender Island (Saanich: st̕ey̕əs ) is one of the Southern Gulf Islands located in the Gulf of Georgia, British Columbia, Canada. Pender Island is approximately 34 km (13 sq mi) in area and is home to about 2,250 permanent residents, as well as a large seasonal population. Like most of the rest of the Southern Gulf Islands, Pender Island enjoys a sub-Mediterranean climate and features open farmland, rolling forested hills, several lakes and small mountains, as well as many coves and beaches.

This Stand is operated totally inside the local ferry propery. Just tell the ferry staff you are going to The Stand. They will let you in no charge. Why? This little Stand is run out of a camper type van due to restrictions about having permenant buildings on the site. It is famous for its hamburgers... oyster burgers ostrich burgers halibut salmon you name it they have it. Roadkill burgers only when supplies available. ( kidding... our Roadkill Cafe folded years ago due to short supply). To top off the champion list of burgers they offer three or four tables situated right at the waters edge. If you avoid ferry times service is fast and they offer a deadly aray of Island Farms ice cream ( the best) in eyepopping proportions for about half the price you would expect elsewhere. Whenever I buy an ice cream cone elsewhere I am always disappointed. This place is my gold standard for both burgers and ice cream all dishes up out of a tiny camper van. I think we have to hand these folks a medal. Don't overlook this as an absolutely charming spot to lollygag in the sun for possibly the most layedback eatery no the planet.

As indicated by others the correct title is "Syrens Cafe & Pub". We boated to Pender with some friends and on the plus side all 8 of us raved about the food. Unfortunately we all universally agreed service was at the bottom of the scale and I cannot recall ever receiving such awful service. It has been a number of years since we've been to Poets and we seem certain food quality (though it really is pub grub) has gone up and service the opposite. Poets was recently sold and apparently the new seem to be taking things in an adverse direction.

We dined at Aurora on Day Two of their seasonal opening and were very impressed with the high quality of the menu, the cooking, and the service. We'd put Aurora in the same category with Hastings House (Ganges on Saltspring), the Bird Cage (Nanaimo), and...MoreGood afternoon Tom Thank you very much for the great review, we do strive to deliver the highest food quality and customer service possible. Please come dine with us again soon, until then, have a great summer!

This is an old island favorite. New management has done a great job of expanding without destroying the wonderful ambience and alfresco decks that overlook tge pool and rolling grass fields that abut the beach where your kids can frollic under your watchful relaxed view from the Terrace. Hard to beat their campsites in the old apple orchid with hot showers and kayak rentals on hand with cafe and pub for meals..what camping should be.

What a charming and quaint place this is, offering a fairly wide selection of cookies/muffins and other yummy baked goods. Perfect for most palettes: gluten free, vegan, regular. It's all here. This place makes an amazing soup. We ate our cookies first because it seemed like the right thing to do. Stop, take a break, treat yourself.

Coffee + Kitchen is the urban style farm-to-table restaurant at WOODS on Pender Resort on Pender Island B.C.. The food is based on foods that bring back memories and inspire new ones. Locally sourced, made in house, healthy quality ingredients. Smaller plates that can be shared or paired together to give our guests flexibility. We make our own pizza dough fermented 24 hours with local craft beer. Toppings change with what's fresh and in season. Our cured meats are from Whole Beast in Victoria. Our coffee beans from Fernwood Coffee Company. Our teas from Silk Road. Ravenrock grows most of our veggies in the summer. In the winter months we source from Saanich Organics and Root Cellar in Victoria. The decor is clean, modern but rustic. Great deck with 2 x 10 foot communal tables beside our new Hall's greenhouse where we grow herbs for the bar and kitchen. Come by and check us out.
Enjoyed a truly amazing dinner, went back again for lunch! Presentation, service, decor and the conversations were fantastic. Oh yeah, the food....wow, and wow. Local, fresh, flavourful, filling, delicious....the list goes on. Had the burger for dinner...seriously perfect. Vegetarian Sandwich for lunch, seriously perfect. Friend all tried some different dishes and they were equally amazing. The cider was lovely, the coffee tasted amazing as well. The best part, was the cocktail list, that is an art in itself. Must say, the mule was simply divine indeed. Look forward to a return visit.

A happy little food truck located at Sea Star Estate Farm and Winery! We serve a small locally sourced menu with emphasis on sustainable foods! We are only open for the summer months Apr/May/June/July/August. If missed us...You can come visit us though at our main location The Cafe at Hope Bay!
Amazing food, deliciously paired with the fantastic wine. Went almost every Saturday last summer with friends for a great meal and a lovely bottle of wine. Not pretentious (wine snob) food, but creative, flavorful and fresh. Will be going back every weekend I can.

Jo's Place is a welcome addition to the Pender restaurant scene. The menu is extensive and the staff are on the ball. We were happily greeted at the door, seated quickly and keep well caffeined with plenty of hot coffee. The waitresses seemed to work well together to get things done and none of them hovered around our table. This was refreshing.
Breakfast is served all day. Try one of the many benny's (Eggs Benedict) or settle for the wholesome breakfast special. Go exotic with spicy, tomatoey Sakshuka or enjoy a stack of pancakes. Want more? Try a mouth watering Reuben or BLT.
Don't get up that early. Try Jo's for lunch. Wednesday is burger and beer day. And there are many more selections on the menu. I have not had the pleasure to eat dinner at Jo's but I believe I will have to wait till next year as the dinner service has ended for the season.

We always enjoy our visits to the bakery for lunch. On this occasion three of us ordered the soup special which was a squash cream soup. It was tasty with just the right amount of spice. However, we were all disappointed that it was served only lukewarm. My grandson had a baked veggie wrap which he said was not that tasty. Our granddaughter enjoyed her chicken pot pie. We went back two days later and the soup was served very hot ( good!). My grandson enjoyed a spanikopita. My wife and granddaughter shared a Turkey BLT, and I had a cheese and onion scone, which was very tasty.
