As the sweet night sea breeze blows into the air and the atmosphere becomes warm and hits your skin when at Jambo bar with a cold beer and a hot burning cigarette.... and cool house reggae music at the background there is no place I would rather advice you to be than at the Jambo Bar and Restaurant

We visited here twice when visiting Paje and found the staff to be quick, friendly and efficient. The food was well cooked, tasty and their was plenty to choose from an extensive menu.It was so chilled out and accommodating that we highly recommend eating here and they have a lovely Great Dane dog that is huge.

When you are on Zanzibar, you have to try a local restaurant! Just get just a bit away from the beach and you’ll find Lustania. And it’s worth it! You’ll to let them know in advance you are coming (ideally one day before), and they’ll prepare what’s fresh from the sea. All the food (and it’s a lot!) is cooked at home by the family. It is simply delicious! And your supporting local business!

Ocean Restaurant, on the beach in Paje, Zanzibar, serves fantastic seafood, grills and pastas, with desserts to die for! Come straight off the beach and enjoy a cold drink, a lazy lunch or laid back dinner. We also serve a cafe menu during the day.
The place was pretty empty during my visit and there was nothing much going on. Maybe some music could cheer the place up. The food was good but the amount of food could be greater. the sitting area is very good, open and cozy. Worth a visit.

The Restaurant Stick your toes in the sand overlooking the incredible turquoise sea, it is a perfect place to relax, enjoy the view and of course our food! The Kilima Kidogo Restaurant offers Seafood, Continental, Pasta & Pizza, Swahili dishes and exciting daily specials. We are happy to be among the top four restaurants of the Tripadvisor Restaurant list. Our friendly staff are always happy to assist you, and all guests may use the pool and WI-FI free of charge. The Kilima Kidogo Bar Our bar offers great ambience, warmth and friendly staff as well as a large array of cocktails! You can ask for fresh coconuts or smoothies which are outstandingly delicious. They are not on the menu but can always be prepared with fruits which are available that day.
Short, simple menu with common Swahili dishes, pizza, seafood, pasta. A few veggie items such a samosas, salad or bean-veggie wrap. Paid a reasonable corkage fee to drink our own champagne. Very good view of white sand Beaches only a few meters away. Friendly but slow so best to order in advance if you can.

If you like to share this wonderful corner of paradise, we have the possibility of renting rooms, built in typical African style!!!
The restaurant is nearby the beach and you have a great view of the Indian Ocean. We really enjoyed the sea food (especially the coconut crusted fish!) and our daughter loved the Spaghetti with tomato sauce.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and we always felt comfortable when we had dinner or lunch there.

One unfriendly waiter for a busy restaurant! Service was poor The time to get your order and even then it was wrong, was shockingly about 1.5 hours!! The food was awful when it did come !!!! I cannot find anything positive to say........... AVOID

Hello guys,
I have spent one week at Teddy´s place with my English friend last year in February. We have really enjoyed time spent at Teddy´s. Made good friends with the staff, played cards with them and their traditional game with stones (forgot how to call it), even teach them Czech games. The barman - Harry took myself and my friend to the village, even introduced us to his family. I have read some bad review about the staff from a guy who was forced to party etc :-) and that the staff was very unfriendly. I find it difficult to believe something like this. Myself and my friend didnt want to spend much at Teddy´s either as we went to volunteer to Iringa afterwards for another 3 months and had to stay in budget. We never felt like we are not welcomed because we don´t spend much there. The people behind the bar had a big smile on their face and tried the best to make your holiday perfect and make you to return back one day. I only had problems with spiders as I am really scared of them but the guys always run to help and catch them (even thou mostly unsucessfully :-) ) when they heard me screaming. I really had the best holiday there and highly recommend it to everyone who travels to Zanzibar. Lets not forget the Beaches with white sand, perfect weather and great food.
Love Hanife and Grace
PS: I am sending greatings to all people I have met in Paje! xx

We were staying down the beach and looking for somewhere to eat other than our B&B. We walked into this place and they sat us outside on a lovely night. The place was packed, but everyone was sitting inside! We sat outside and enjoyed the sounds and wind from the ocean.
They have a whole host of items, but we had been away from home for nearly two weeks eating local food everywhere we were going, so we ordered the pizza on the menu as we were craving something familiar. It was great!
Outside, a couple local dogs came to the table and slept by our feet hoping for the periodic table scrap or attention. They were very friendly.
