I was here with a large group of colleagues, so we had a buffet style dinner. The food was a mishmash of styles, lukewarm and tasted so-so. The only thing which stood out was the speed with which they pushed us to drink wine....

I was recently a guest at a dinner held at Am Kamin. We had been driven out from Dusseldorf and it seems to me it is a little tricky to find ...... but what a find!
The building is all authentic old-world charm. The service gracious and professional.
The young chef is very talented and his kitchen team and servers excellent.
The chef is a friend of Andreas Bender who is one of Germany's new young winemakers. I suggest you order a bottle of Bender Riesling with your dinner...... guten appetite

The burgers were nothing to rave about but the ingredients were fresh and the barbecue sauce was very tasty. The chips were nice and crispy with a tasty coating. The milkshake I had was definitely store bought. The service was extremely friendly and fast.

I've been in this restaurant with some colleagues and almost each of us had a different dish. Quality of the food was average: tomato soup was good, pirogi were part good part somwehat tasteless, the potato cake with gulasch was quite poor (it lost its crispiness because soaked in the goulasch sauce). What in my opinion has been really poor was the service: we have been waiting some 10' to order, then 30' to have the starters and other 40' for the main courses; the restaurant was not full (while waiting I went to see the other rooms and counted 34 people, while the total capacity could be 100+). The staff was quite cold. The bill was fair.

True to the motto: "holiday from the daily grind", the ALEX Oberhausen is the perfect location to enjoy the day in a comfortable atmosphere. With a view of the Promenade, simply let your spirit flow, and relax after a shopping tour at the CentrO. The ALEX in Oberhausen has warm food on offer right up until closing time.
The real plus of this place is the service. We just have been there because it is in front of the Lego discovery center, we found much more we were expecting. The brunch and breakfasts are really good, the guys who are serving you are really nice, quick, smiling. The food is good too and the atmosphere eccellent. We felt really welcome

This is a quaint little spot tucked away near the center of Duisburg. It's a bit small but I think that's part of the appeal, aside from the delicious food.
I had Tom Kaa Gai (coconut milk based soup) and it was the best I've had outside of Thailand. Actually, it probably is the best I've had period. Wonderfully balanced.
For my main dish I had the duck with coconut curry and some fruit - there were grapes, pieces of pineapple and mandarin orange and lychee, too! It was delicious!!! I can't wait to go again.
When I spoke with some local colleagues about the place they were quite surprised I found it....apparently it's well known by the locals as one of the best restaurants in town but not not typically frequented by visitors.
Next time I'm in Duisburg for dinner you can bet I'll be going back.

Quite nice atmosphere Personelle takes care of the guest with a distance Selling beverages seams more important as serving food in a speedy manner It seams the kitchen is to small or badly organised Food quality quite above average but not a woww expirience

Hi, this was my second visit to this restaurant ... again great food & service! Appetizers, main courses, drinks ... nothing bad to say. Friendly & helpful staff, even though the place was completely stacked, in & out. I've read other negative reviews, I guess those people were just very unfortunate, and caught the place at the wrong time ... it is actually a great restaurant and as said in my first review, I will go there again.

Nice decor, large Seating area. We walked in and the place was empty, I was told to sit where I want, two minutes later I am being told that I need to move to another table. Server was pretty friendly and helpful, regardless of the lack of clients the food took longer than expected to be served. The Schnitzel was nothing special, the beer was good. The decor is nice, and the beer selection is good.
