Cozy family owned restaurant offering steaks, seafood, pizza, pasta or burgers made with passion. Our food is not off the shelf, but homemade from scratch. We offer typical icelandic dishes like lamb and cod or catfish in a fresh, modern style. In the summer time it is great to sit outside in our plaza and enjoy delicious food, snacks and cocktails. Housed in one of the oldest buildings in Husavik and in the city centre you can't miss us.
Ended up visiting this place two nights in a row. Good choice of food and relatively good value - for Iceland! Very enjoyable. Only criticism was that one meal was not piping hot but this was instantly sorted. Very welcoming resturant & can thoroughly recommend.

Strikið restaurant is located on the 5th floor in the centre of town, offering a splendid view over the fjord and the new Cultural and Conference house Hof. During summer meal can be enjoyed on the sheltered Terrace adjacent to the restaurant.
In the past this restaurant has been very good and I have had good experiance there on my trips to Akureyri. Therfore I was very disappointed when me and my wife went there this weekend.
We ordered blue mussels for starters. The portion was the smallest I have seen and the taste did not drive me to ask for more.
For main course we had Duck breast with an orange-glace. The meat was tough and the plate very simple with the meat and a few potatos.
The price is just above mid range in comparison with other restaurants but very disappointing experiance I must say.

I got a couple of rolls which were delicious and a seaweed salad. Food was fresh just very expensive which I did not expect.

Modern relaxed setting, serving fresh local cough seafood and meats. Surrounded by beautiful art and sculptures you can relax with space to enjoy your meal or even just pop in for coffee or a drink in our upstairs lounge. Booking always advised but pop in and relax while we sort you a table.
We dined at Noa’s tonight and the food was absolutely amazing. The wait staff and chef were very friendly and helpful. Our waitress gave us great recommendations. Appetizer of smoked meats was awesome - included horse which was very good and a langostino salad which had a hint of vanilla and star anise - delish. We had the catch of the day, wolffish, and trout. Both were exquisite! Topped off with creme brûlée- again wonderful. Would highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely eat here again.

A beautiful restaurant in Akureyri, near the harbour.
Slightly away from the other bars and restaurants. Walk past the Hof, the circular concert venue, on the harbour-front and follow the water towards the docks.
Bryggjan is in one of the older buildings in Akureyri, inside it has a pitched dark wood ceiling, and walls and a pretty, well-stocked, bar. Food is fairly standard, with ribs, burger, chicken etc - think a classier TGIFs - but is nicely cooked and served by young, friendly staff, who of course, speak impecable English.
Perfectly pleasant venue.

This was the best meal we had in Iceland and possibly the best salmon I have ever had! Definitely stop here while in the Lake Myvatan area. You order at a register, but then sit outside where the view is beautiful. The food is top notch!

By the looks of this place, you'd think it was a casual diner with mediocre food..., but you'd be wrong. This place is an EXCELLENT farm-to-table restaurant! The food is top notch. I had the lamb shank, and it was done to perfection. You could taste the red wine it was braised in. It was served with a delicious gravy, and a lovely jam that complimented the lamb beautifully. There was a fresh salad and a potato cake served with it as well. My dinning companion had the arctic char, which was perfectly pan seared. The skin was nice and crisp and the fish itself was velvety soft. Also served with a potato cake and a fresh salad, with a mild creamy cheese. We had the raw vegan chocolate peanut butter dessert, which was outstanding...a perfect combo of creamy and crunchy peanut butter filling with a crunchy chocolate top, adorned with salty peanuts. I highly recommend eating at this restaurant if you are in the area.

We ate here after a long day of sightseeing. Husband had a huge and delicious bowl of creamy vegetable soup with an enormous bowl of fries while I had pickled herring, asparagus, potato salad, rye bread, salad, and omelette. The staff were friendly, the building historical and charming, and the menu interesting.

Be Square and Be There! The Hamburger Factory is a must try in Iceland Gullfoss and Geysir are surely a must-see in Iceland, but neither is something you eat! That’s why we have 15 brilliant and creative hamburgers at The Icelandic Hamburger Factory. The Reykjavik Grapevine awarded the Icelandic Hamburger Factory the ”Best Speciality Burger 2010” and the “Best Veggie Burger 2011”. It made us happy, because we aim to please. That’s why we only use 100% fresh high-quality ingredients, directly from the Icelandic nature.Attention: Our hamburger buns are not round. They are square. Does it taste better? You tell us. Be square and be there.
It's always great to find vegan labeled food on menus, as you can be sure, they know how to prepare vegan food.
There are three burgers which can be ordered with Oomph or Portobello-Mushroom. I loved the BBQ-BURGER few weeks ago as well as Miss Reykjavík. The staff is very friendly and polite, the service is very fast.
