We were attracted in by a very welcoming and persuasive owner, and the fact that the garden surroundings looked very nice and cooling. The garden dining area is opposite the main restaurant, which is built (as with several of the properties in the centre of the town) in what was an old wine cellar.
The food was very good and plentiful, though in a German/English style rather than French/Italian - what you'd expect, of course, but I really mean in the details such as the gravy, which was a little plain. We were impressed enough to go back again the next evening, and my wife tried a different item that turned out to be very similar to what she'd eaten the night before - it tasted good but it was a little surprising to have such similar items on the menu. While Italian may be my preference, I do like German food (there were a lot of pseudo-Italian restaurants and pizza places in Neustadt to be avoided and not seemingly that many typically German places to eat), so I enjoyed the meals there and the prices were sensible. A nice, quite romantic setting in the garden dining area, where we ate both times, but the main restaurant also looked quite romantic and interesting... and was probably cooler than outside! Good if you like to sample food from the region you're in, which we always try to do.

A most, when in Neustadt, great wine list, easy comfiest food, not easy to find, so I come here for the past 25 years...... Will always come back!

We have tried out this place twice as we like Asian food and Vietnamese cuisine is otherwise hard to find in our area. However, the food was not as I recall it from my visits to Viet Nam. They use much less spices and apparently try to adjust to the European taste. After an initial warm welcome, the service was not very attentiive despite the place not being particularly crowded and the food was rather mediocre; prices are also higher than in the local Chinese restaurants. I can therefore not really follow the other people who have rated this higher, but think it can still be worthwhile to go there if you like a taste of Southeast Asia and are sick and tired of Saumagen and Leberknödel..

Quite frankly, I was truly impressed by this restaurant. The interior is very welcoming and styled in a remarkably tasteful way. The food is special and extraordinary, and at the same time not overpriced or inauthentic. Particularly recommendable are the "Kleinigkeiten", a Palatinate interpretation of the idea of tapas or mezze. Mildly offputting was the slightly unprofessional service (and the fact that pate de foie gras was still on the menue - please!) but this cannot lessen the impression of a very good restaurant.

Been here several times with visitors. Tucked away at the end of Hauptsr, Id passed it but never noticed it before. The crepes are absolutely to die for. My favourite is Juliet etc Tom. The live entertainment with the owner I assume singing away to the background music is a special touch. I'm just sorry they're not open more often. Highly recommended.

This place has it all. In addition to the great food, it is also a mini hotel right in the heart of the Rhineland Palatinate wine region. You can literally walk out the door and into the vineyards. Features an extensive menu of traditional Palatinate foods such as leberknoedel, saumagen, etc. Also features flammkucken and is just excellent. Wonderful wine selection. Newly built but beautifully furnished and very cozy with a wood burning ceramic stove (kachelofen).

Netts has lodging, a restaurant and bottles of its own house wine. The setting on the edge of Gimmeldingen town center, with a Terrace offering views of vineyards all around it is stunning. I went only for dinner w/ a friend/business associate. We went w/ the set menu (42 Euro) and had the waiter match wines w/ each course. The food was creative, fresh and beautifully presented. Their zippy roasted tomato soup topped w/ a ginger lemongrass foam was a highlight. The bruschetta-nicoise plate was also a delilght. Fresh beans buried under a sardine (fresh, not gross even if you don't love them) & a slice of sashimi. Not the best tuna I've had, but solid. The main course of monkfish w/ pesto, white tuscan beans, chorizo and ham on a bed of arugula was a little salty but better than just good. Local almond mousse for dessert was just the thing - and I usually skip sweets. Superb local wines - especially the Christmann riesling. Felt a little overcharged for the wines, and at times the service was a little slow. It looked to me like mother and son were running the front of the house & the very slight lack of service was easy to overlook given how solid the food was. Oh, and like the presentation of first courses on slate slabs too.

First time here and I loved it! The place itself is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and has a lively outdoor Seating area. The food and wine menu was varied and prices reasonable for such a fine dining experience. The service was attentive without being annoying....MoreThank you so much, it was a pleasure for us. Hope we see you again.

My husband and I had a very pleasant evening at Spinne in late October. The setting is in a most attractive cellar-like room. Our server was friendly and helpful. We had some of the seasonal specialities and they were really delicious, including a fresh "stone" mushroom pasta and a roasted fish on a vegetable melange that included parsley root (a vegetable new to me). We enjoyed one of the Christmann wines from vineyards in the village. This was our best meal on a 4-day visit to Germany!
