Moreton-in-Marsh is a town civil parish in northeastern Gloucestershire, England. The town is located at the crossroads of the Fosse Way Roman road (now the A429) and the A44. It is served by Moreton-in-Marsh railway station on the Cotswold Line. The parish and environs are relatively flat and low-lying compared with the surrounding Cotswold Hills. The River Evenlode rises near Batsford, runs around the edge of Moreton and meanders towards Oxford, where it flows into the Thames just east of Eynsham. Just over 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of Moreton, the Four shire stone marked the boundary of the historic counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire, until the re-organisation of the county boundaries in 1931. Since then it marks the meeting place of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire.

This really is a little gem. Staff are so attentive it’s really family friendly. The menu for children is a little expensive but the food is excellent. I recommend the fish and chips. Fresh fish that morning hand battered light and crispy twice cooked chips and all the meals are a proper decent size. Building is being refurbished beautifully

We turned up at 6pm Sunday (which is when it says it’s open on the website) and it was, sadly, closed with chairs positioned across the entrance. We also attempted to phone in case it was going to open slightly later, and unfortunately no answer....MoreWe are so sorry our website has not yet been updated. We are currently closing at 5pm on Sundays. Our longer opening hours will re-start from Easter Sunday. Many apologies for the inconvenience you were caused.

After a NY day walk from Moreton in Marsh the Great Western provided a lovely lunch for a party of 12 visitors to the area. The fish and chips were beautifully cooked and served. Mussels were served in a delicious white wine sauce. Lunch is served in either the bar (where dogs are welcome) or the restaurant (no dogs). Service was friendly and attentive. Blockley is a lovely Cotswold village.

Great location, great decor - disappointing food and service.
Having heard negative things about the new management of the pub from many locals during our visit - we ended a walk here, thoroughly enjoyed the cosy feel for a well deserved pint and thought we’d come back for dinner. Error.
Two staff and five tables was too much to handle it would seem. We had to go to the bar to taste wine selections. Our food was late and over cooked with side dishes and condiments forgotten - we had to go and find the staff to get them. A slight positive was the “on the house - mistake cheese board”, which managed two bites of before being brought the bill as we had apparently “finished our food” and they were tidying up to close. It was 9.15pm.
It was in the end rather comical but not something we’d pay for again.

On the night we went the restaurant was pretty soulless, food quality was average and the staff very friendly. If the HB was the only Indian Restaurant in Moreton then I am sure it would rate higher but having visited the competition then doubt we will be back.

Whilst driving from Stow-on-the-Wold to Broadway we saw The Cotswold Food Store & Café and stopped off for lunch. The Café looked inviting from the outside and was equally inviting once inside. There was a small lunch menu and specials board, our food was piping hot and was very filling. We also visited the food store whilst we were there which had a good range of locally produced products and speciality items. It is a place worth visiting whilst in the area, highly recommended.

Fabulous Lunch today in the Redesdale Arms. Starters were Cauliflower Soup for me, Mixed Salad for my wife, bread and olive oil dip. For mains we both had roast Turkey with mash, new Potatoes, Amazing Roast Potatoesp, selection of vegetables and cauliflower cheese. A free glass of wine was included. Portions were huge, so much so we were too full to have a pudding - indeed, we requested a doggie bag to bring some of the mains home with us. To finish, coffee and chocolate. The restaraunt was packed, but the service was quick and efficient. Excellent lunch at a reasonable cost.

We have just had lunch at Tilly’s and can say that it was very good. I had soup with chunky bread and butter and my husband had a blt Sandwich which came with salad and crisps. Both were of excellent quality and quantity. The service was very friendly. Well done.

My husband and I eat Indian food a lot so we know what we liked and we definitely liked this place. The food was really tasty, spicy and well presented. I particularly liked the sauces that came with the poppadums, five of them instead of the usual three. I chose garlic chicken and my husband achari lamb. We both agreed that they were some of the best we've tasted. Pleasant service without being over the top and the surroundings were good too.

My sister and I visited Martha’s this weekend and both chose scones from the vey tempting scone menu. Mine was apple and walnut with blue cheese and onion chutney. It was absolutely delicious and just perfect for a light lunch. The next day we needed somewhere for lunch again and couldn’t decide on somewhere just as tempting, so went back to Martha’s!
