Sword of Ferdando was good food, all kind of meat and vegetables. Waiter was professional and funny. atmosphere was nice. Starter saladbuffet includes the price, but quality of salad could be better. White house wine ok, but bit pricey. Generally good place in Mikkeli. Even Kari Tapio have eaten there.

A positive surprise. A very nice and well composed menu to choose from. All we had was tasty, particularly the pepper steak. A bit pricey though: for the price I would have expected even more. We also liked that the childrens' menu was actually nice...MoreThank you for visiting us and for your friendly feedback. Wish you all well and welcome to Mikkeli´s Pruuvi restaurant again! Huviretki, the restaurant of the Cumulus Mikkeli hotel, has the ability to be either good, or then bad. A national chain restaurant, they would gain and benefit tremendously by paying adequate attention to the events around them...
During the Mikkeli Music Festival, one night was disastrous, the other quite good. How can they afford NOT to PAY ATTENTION to the well-publisized events around them?
On the good night, they had staffed up to match the demand, both in waiting and in the kitchen. The food was quite tasty, and service excellent.
Obviously, this is a deep chain management issue... where blatant ignorance from year to year actually deserves to be brutally punished. Is it really necessary or required for customers to wake the chain or restaurant management up???

Overall: 4
Comments: slightly outside the center, ready and available coming with a car from Helsinki and looking for a nice place for a Pitstop. There are some interesting 'attractions' on the same location such as gift shops and St.clause's summer workshop. There are also many plants on the premises for those interested. The cafe close to the waterfront has a varied Finnish menu of good quality.

Continental, Finnish, European, pure materials
Restaurant was welcoming and nice "atrium". Plenty of friendly waiters to give service even in late Sunday afternoon. Blini starter and grilled Arctic Char were excellent, as well as the teenager's Burger and fries on the side. Green salad starter was tasty. The Speciality of the house, grilled Goose fillet, was not that special. It was supposed to be medium rare rosé, but the first one, returned to kitchenm, was more than well done and tough, I did not taste a bit of that. They promised a new one and it came in 10 minutes, but was no big improvement - it was also covered with sauce to conceal the fact that it was not rosé. It was no match for the knife this time, but far from the expected quality for 28 euros. I got a free espresso, though,
I will return to see if they can make to goose right. And, over all, a nice meal.

The Atmosphere was cozy. Located just beside the center market square. The food was decent with an average service. Prices were not very high nor very low either. I ordered a house steak (tenderloin steak) 200 gr and I got it a perfect medium rare. Worth visiting this place.

I had lunch here. The mutton cotolettes were from a local producer. The salad had many colours and shapes, to mention the beetroot stripes. The food was tasty. The interior with brick walls makes the restaurant above the average and suitable for a little classier occasion.

We read a lot about Mannila before going there, but still it was a very positive surprise. The restaurant, an old country house was nicely decorated. There was a small shop selling most delicious jellies and sweets. The restaurant served red and blond pizzas that were most tasty.
